Here is some pics of my work in progress kit box. I made the trap using a 1/4" steel rod with old aluminum arrow shafts cut to length. I used 3/8" air line for the black spacers.
Baby is getting huge!

Good job young man, but the wire on the bottom looks a little open, you might want to use smaller wire 1/2"x1/2" or install a catch pan under the wire which will also keep the nastier problems out and make it easier to clean up.

Hey Thom, I do plan on useing a tray system eventually. I'm not sure about the color it may look similar to the Partrige Family Bus. I have lots of leftover paint from making birdhouses, yellow, blue, green and white. I want to prime it first. I plan on getting 2 mores breeders tomorrow. I'll probably put the breeding on hold until November or December.

Wannaroll did you pitch the roof so there is a slant for water to drip off?? If not you could probably put a thin piece of wood under the legs in the front or back. This way it will be tilted.

yeah there is a slight pitch about 1-1/2". More than enough for the little bit of rain we get here in the high desert. I actually have material to put rain gutters and a down spout. I guess I have to much time on my hands right now.
You guys will probably LYAO when you see it painted. I'm not in to big of a hurry yet. ---------- Dave - Hesperia, CA.

Yep, there is 2 breeder pens on the right side of the unit. I'm gonna keep it small for now. 2 sets of breeders and fly the baby's. I only have 1 set of breeders and 1 baby until tomorrow. ---------- Dave - Hesperia, CA.

Dave, Painting you kit box so that it stands out is a good thing. It will help your birds to home in. I also like that you can secure your traps. I predict, you will need a large box next year. That also is a good thing!

I am not a member of any clubs yet. I got my birds from Fred Jenkins in Pomona (MBRC). He's one cool cat. I learn a bunch from him, He's pretty much available any time by cell phone. You can send me a personel e-mail if you would like. jeepndave@msn.com
What clubs are up here in the high desert?
Thanks, Newbie here!
