I too would like to know what the latest is on the Fireballs. Questions regarding the proper eye color & body size and who has the closest to the origals would be some
informative answers. What a good research project this would be. Perhaps this site owner (Tony) could help us out via including a special section on this in his Fireball Roller page.

George, I have been asking around and doing a little research on the Fireballs. I got real lucky locating
people who knew the origanal breeder of the Fireball straine, Rev. James Graham, and where some of his birds were placed before his passing. Also I've aquired 4 birds
that should be arriving tomorrow.
I can keep you informed via my web site: http://fireballroller.tripod.com/
Or contact me at: bancroftjw@juno.com
Do you remember it was I who made your Roller Zone sign?

I was at a guy's house flying rollers on Sunday in central North Carolina. Two birds kept spinning out of the bottom of the A-kit 40 ft. and fast, then right back to the kit. "What birds are those?", I asked the obvious question. "Those are out of my Fireball pair", he said and then showed me the breeders of those two kit birds. I didn't know there were any around, but it's good to know they still exist...and with the goods still in place! YITS, Cliff

Hi George, yes I still make signs.
Black on caution yellow Pigeon Zone and custom
loft signs also.
I did have samples on my Fireball Roller web site, but
the site was defunked due to lack of interest and content.
I'm now trying to develope a simple home web page to
include signs & decals.

Hello All, I am currently breeding 7 pair of fireballs I received from Bullfrog. I was told by him that these are off of pure Fireballs acquired from a old breeder who got them directly Graham himself back in early 1960’s. That was over 40 years ago. I understand that since then they have pretty much bred uncontrolled amongst each other in their own breeding loft.

A few of these current youngsters are to be shipped out but after these the rest will be put together to form an A and B team for flying. I want to see what these birds can do when given the chance to properly train together.

Everything I have read to date seems to indicate that Fireballs, while deep rollers, do not compare to the Birmingham roller in performance and ability. I have noticed too that they seem to come in a wide variety of body sizes, type and colors (oops). The group that I have are all grizzle and tortishell. Does anyone have something different?

New Website??
The topic of Fireballs just keeps coming back up. This tells me there might be enough interest to build a site dedicated to Fireballs modeled after Roller-Pigeon.Com. I would be willing to build a site to promote the Fireball roller called FireballRollers.Com.

If I were to do this, how many would be willing to participate by sending in pictures, old (and new) articles and join a Fireball discussion board to cover all aspects of the Fireball Roller?

If you think this is something you would participate in, let me know here. If enough ideas and interest, I will get started immediately.

Hey Buck, yeah, I know there are a number guys into Fireballs. I hope a dedicated site can generate enough interest to keep it going strong. I know Joel Bancroft should be commended for getting interest peaked again. "Thanks" Joel.

I will start the (fire)ball rolling on this end and have a discussion section programmed first as I know we all want this. I will follow this up with a photo gallery.

If those with digital pictures are willing to share or scan old pictures, we can have a cool site in no time. I will setup a fireball email address to send digital pictures and any articles and information anyone may have.

Joel, I am interested in any information or articles, pictures you acquired in you want to share...Thanks!

Look forward to hearing any thoughts anyone has...

Not allot of Fireballers, but of those who are, they are very dedicated to them.

The firebals i had in the 70 were all badges and came in all colors most were pearl eyed and were a little bit larger then your rollers today. I had birds from graham and some from dr nordlun not sure of spelling. They kit very well but roll so deep that some times it would take 3 to 5 min for a bird to get back in the kit. at one time there were around 20 guys with fire balls in rhode island. i know hank johnson moved to flaggstaf az about 25 years ago with some of hes birds., dont even know if old hank is still around or his birds but he had some good ones.
