Just would like to let roller-pigeon members know that there is an auction going on at eggbid for a very rare and out of print rollers book by E. R. B. Chapman. This is a great book with lot of good information on rollers and covers all aspects of rollers hobby. I have an extra copy so here it is

That's odd, I posted a reply to this post last night, but it mysteriously disappeared. I wonder if it will happen again??? Sid, I see that you are the seller of that book. Just so you know some people might get ticked off at you advertising a book without coming out and saying that you are the one offering it. I don't care myself, but that really irks some folks. BTW I see that you are selling offspring from the Rick Mee birds you got from him. Are you not happy with them? If so can you tell us why? Brian.

Hey Brian, are you sure you posted to this thread? Sid started this post at about 8:30 this AM. I have not edited anything for a while.
Also, if anyone wants to list things for sale or something they want, I prefer they post it on the Pigeon Classified section. Posting there is currently available at no charge. :-)

Hopefully this does not stir up anything, but if Sid bought the birds from Rick Mee, are they not Sid's birds to with whatever he wishes? Maybe he has found another family that he likes better. Maybe hs just has too many birds. Maybe he didn't like the color of their bands.
I feel like if you buy a bird from someone, anyone, the bird is yours. You can fly it, breed from it, eat it, mate it to a Modena, whatever unless there was some agreement between the buyer and seller.
Just my thoughts.

Brain, probably you did not read my post completely. I did mention that "I have an extra copy so here it is"
I bought few Rick Mee birds (breeders) late last summer from the guy in PA. I am only able to produce 4 youngsters and stop breeding as weather started getting cold, molting and becuase of short days. Hawks took three youngsters and I am able to save only a cock.
Early this year Rick Mee contacted me as I was on his waiting list and he offered me few birds. Since I was waiting for long time to get the birds from him, I right way bought what ever he had available. He shipped 4 youngsters, 2 hens and a cock. We had shipping problem and birds got deliver after 6 days. Only 2 Hens, one cock and one youngster able to survive. Rick Mee sent me few more adult birds later in the week.
I mostly have all adult birds and I started breeding program. I planned to concentrate on only birds (breeders) I got directly from Rick Mee so I sold Mee birds which I got from PA. I sold few birds locally and have a pair on egg bid. It was just person thing, I would just like to concentrate on birds I got directly from Mee.
Do I like Mee brids or not? I will probably able to answer this question in coming years. I got a youngsters kit going from birds I got directly from Mee. They are about 4 months old and some start doing flips expect for few which are just start doing 10'-15'. It is too early to say any thing about Mee birds as I just start working on them. So far they are doing good fly time. Flying on good height. I did have problem when I started flying them, they were kind of fly low and fast but as they are getting mature both problem seems to be solved.
I heard you also got Mee birds this year or had them before? What is your experience with them?
Thanks, -Rauf

Rauf, glad to hear you weren't turning feather merchant on us and are sticking with them. Rick told me the story about the birds he sent to you. Listen to what he has told you and I suspect you will be keeping more than you would ever let go of. I didn't get Rick's family from Rick. Rick sent me the best of a group of Bob Westfall birds he was flying. They are similar in make up to the Horners. I only got about a dozen babies before shutting the breeding season down. They were slow to get going. One young RR rolled down from about a buck-fifty today. I hope this isn't the sign of things to come from those birds. I suspect not. Brian.
