Today i got home to find one of my stock hens had got her leg cought on a screw eye in the loft . the leg was mangeled and barely hanging on by a thin tendon or ligament, so I cut the leg off .The leg was not bleeding at all.
Anyone have a hen with one leg that can still breed ??
I have seen one legged birds in kits but never a breeder.

George, I think once the hen get use to being a monoped, she will be okay. All she has to do is squat. If it were the cock that lost his leg, he would be doomed to celabacy because he couldn't balance and grip while treading the hen. Bummer on the stock hen though. Sorry to hear that. Brian.
