There is only one sure way to tell that I have found.A hen will lay eggs or a sex linked mating.I have tried everything I have heard and none prove out to be true.David P.S. I havn't tried the little magnet on a string yet.LOL.

The Beak really works!!! The cock has a raised wattle while the hen's wattle lies much flatter. Just look closely and you will see it. It is much more noticeable in the racing homers, but works in all breeds. Richard

Ya gotta feel a lot of butts before you get it. lol OK here is what I do and it is usually accurate. Feel the vent bones where they go to what you would think is a point below the tail. At the very end of the vent bones the bones make a small bowl just big enough for the pad of your finger to fit in. If it feels big enough for an egg to go thru it is a hen. If not it is a cock. There is a noticable difference. Try it on birds you know the sex of first(practice) good luck,g/l yits v99
