Hey guys, Here's a fun little question... How far have any of your rollers flown to return to your home after they've been sold or given away? Also... what's the longest period of time a roller was away from your loft and mysteriously re-appeared?
I had a Bob Scott cock fly from Whittier California to return to me in Costa Mesa California About 25 miles?) back around "84"!! He got away from the guy I gave him to and got back to me a week later dehydrated and weak.
I had what I called a yellow badge leave my kit after being homed and flying for 6 months and return a year and a half later!! Strange!!!

An overfly during the end of June caused me to loose some of my better birds, a week later one showed up and 10 days later from the day of overfly another one showed up. I wrote them off after three days. I think that shows the good homing ability of some families of those rollers.
I had one I gave to a friend come home after it got out at his place. She made a straight line towards my house he said and was there in a matter of hours, about 15 miles. I've had birds come back from overflys as long as six months later. Brian.
