Michael, start with 8 ounces (1 Cup) for ten birds per day (about 0.8 ounce per bird).
Hope that helps. -Rauf

One cup for every ten birds is about right. Select a good clean feed blend or blend your own. I would not recomend corn or popcorn as part of that blend.

Hi, I used to measure one tablespoon per bird at first and it seemed to work good. I feed a mix for young birds until they beging to roll regulary 6 months and older, then I feed wheat, milo and peas and accasionally (spelling?) mix one or two days a week. As you fly your birds if they fly over an hour then cut the feed back some and if they don't want to fly long then add more grain until you get them around 45 minutes of flying each day. The feeding was always the hardest part for me to get a handle on. In summer they will eat less and in cool weather or winter they will eat and need more. But try not to over feed them. They should trap in right away and still fly 45 minutes if they are in good shape. Have you gotten a young kit out flying yet? I give my birds some persalane weed all the time in summer. Pigeons love this succulent weed and they will eat collard greens too if given to them. I like the pursalane weed as its full of vitamins. You can give vitamins accationally if you want to. I don't think most people give anything except grit and grain and water. I have the weed here and its available all the time so i give it to them. By the way when you feed your birds if you put in just a little barley in the feed mix, if they are over fed then they won't eat the barley and you can be sure they are gettomg too much food. Actually they will leave large peas and shriveled wheat too if given too much. But if they clean it all up that is on the right tract, but be careful as they can over eat for one 24 hour period and fly too long. It takes a few days to get the energy down if they have eaten too much for a few days. Just keep feeding and chart what you gave them and chart the time they flew, weather conditions and soon you will be able to give them the correct amount by know what your birds need each day. Good luck to you Let us know how your birds are doing in the near future. Bill
