Well,
I do not use poison bait for the fear that it will get to my birds some how...I tried the sticky paper...it caught a lot of feathers! LOL!! I have a one legged kit bird...a dog with a sore nose and a 6 year old with a hurt foot...while using the regular conventional rat trap. So I did some reasearch and bought the Rat Zapper 2000...let me tell you...it is a little more doe then a regular trap...but it is totally safe and it works...I have caught 3 rats in about a week with this bad boy. It actually electricutes the rats. It looks like a little tunnel...they go in for the "Dog food bait" and when they put there little feet on the metal floor..ZAP dead rat....not blood or anything..you do not even have to touch it...you just turn it over and the rat falls out. It even has a red light on top that tells you when you have a rat or mouse inside...the red light starts blinking. I caught two rats in one night...before I went to bed I just looked out my window and saw the red light blinking.. Anyway...Here is the info about the trap and the Web page....very good product....it is totally safe.....
If you get one..put it where you know the rats frequent...put a little piece of dog food in the front of the machine and one just inside the tunnel and about 3-4 pieces inside at the very back of the tunnel and turn it OFF...let the rats have a free meal the first night...nice and happy.....then the next night...turn it on....ZAP! last meal buddy!

I have the regular zapper...not the ultra...mine was about 35.00 with shipping. I am telling you...this thing rocks....no mess...damn...I sound like an infamercial...LOL! But it is true..it works good. One thing I had to do..is make sure that I had no pigeon feed spillage.....so the rats wanted to dine in the zapper 2000 snack shack . It is not water proof...so you have to keep in from gettng wet.
