I've got a couple of Hornets, or Yellow Jacket nests on the underside
of my roof near my loft. What's the best way to kill them?

Go down to Home Depot or Lowes and go to the garden section and get the wasp/hornet spray. It comes out in a white foamy stream that you spray at the nest. It doesn't even have to touch the wasps to kill them. Once they are dead, knock down the nest so others don's use it in the future.

Brian,
The only thing I would add is do this spraying at dusk, to assure that you get all the adults in the nest for the day.
