What is it that you would like to know about the show? I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have. Brian.

Is it a judging of type for performance rollers, Brian? We used to have those back in the sixties and seventies, but I thought it was a lost art after being bastardized by the show roller craze. I always thought it was tremendously valuable in learning proper type. YITS Cliff

Cliff, the show is for flying Birmingham rollers and the birds are judged based upon how their physical make up in regards to how the judge determines them capable of performance. This is largely based upon the overall principals most people who are into "type" believe in. The birds must also be in good condition and appear to have been flown. Obviously each judge will have their own slight interpretation of what is excellent, but in the end, there is little doubt which birds are the best. Last year I think we had almost 200 rollers shown in the four sex classes. Brian.

I went a few years ago and it is alot of fun! After a long day and adult beverages, many lined up to shoot baskets into a hoop for money.
It really gets crowded around the show birds and they take it seriously. The event was well run and included an admission fee and lunch.
You should attend at least once. Go and have a good time! ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

I've never been but look forward to going this year. Brian, I'm glad you clarified the judging criteria for the birds being shown. I was concerned about that. Looks like I'll be bringing some of my own hopefully. Look forward to meeting all from this list who attend. ---------- Big Al "High Plains Spinner Loft"

Brian, you pretty much summed it up in your reponse to Ciff,as I was mostly interested in the detaila of the showing.I do like the show aspect of flying rollers,I like a flying roller built like a brick #*@%house.The best bodys I've seen on flying rollers, have come from the loft of Dick Stephens,I think he's a master at it,but I'm sue theres many others out there, and the size of the show is intriging.Aloha,Todd

It's good to see that showing performance rollers has not faded into oblivion. As I said, it is a valuable educational tool. One of my proudest trophies is "Best Old Roller Cock-1963", Canton, Ohio, when I was 14 years old. YITS, Cliff
