One of the roller hit the roof while rolling and broke his tail. Would the tail get recover? or it is consider as cull. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it will recover but will never be as good as before. If the bird was excellent, then use him/her as a breeder.

One trick that sometimes helps is to fan open the tail back and forth several times a day. The tail bone area is bruised and needs to be flexed. Do this several times a day for a week or two if you can and often it will help them recover quickly. Overall it tends to take several months for them to return to somewhat normal, depending on the severity of the damage. Brian.

Thanks guys. The lock down season is just around the corner, one option is to just lock him up and he will recover by the spring. The other thing is what would if I pluck all tail feathers would it helps him recover faster. -Rauf

Rauf follow Brians advise as flexing it and massaging the tail works wonders , can take as little as a week or two to a month. Normally they are fine once they heal up unless it was a real bad one. Scott
