I never measured the birds keel with the Kowalski measurer but have handled many keels before. I handled birds bred from Kowalski stock that were quite short keel. I guess this was the norm for his stock. I for one like my keels to run as deep as possible back to the vent. I found that these tend to be your high velocity deep rollers and not the short ones.
I don't know about the eye measure but to each his own.
If you understood what Kowalski was preaching... then great for you. I have no idea what he was trying to say as I have found it to be other wise from his teachings.
