Hey all! I was wondering what type of weather systems you guys use--If any at all?-Do you use the fancy digital ones or the dial-analog--old type ones.I amtotally weather ignorant, that is if iam wet I know its raining Lol! I would aprecate any brand names--sources etc. I really cant afford the high class one---though-- I am thinking (very selfishly)that Christmass is not far away ane one of my children that makes 10 times the money per year i ever made and at least in part I sent her threw college that this is an absolutly positively Areal necessity Lol!If i just poor mouth a little and remind her of the curtians I hung and the wiring of the BIG screen TV OH I KNOW IM BAD LOL! But you gotta do what ya gota do ! any way what are your suggestions? Mike

The weather system I use:
I look outside and if the wind is blowing real hard I don't fly; if it is raining real hard I don't fly; if it is dark I don't fly; any other weather, I fly.

Fr.Mike. I use my computer.Weatherbug.com.Find your local weather by using your zip code.I also use one site that gives me local hour by hour forcasts. And there is the Weather Channel out of Atlanta on TV and computer. Some like to use a barometer and only fly when the barometer is below 30 or something like that.Unless it is storming to hard or winds are very bad I put them up.A good raincoat is a good investment.LOL.One of the best times I flew my birds it was snowing. They really put on a show.Maybe it will snow friday.LOL.David

I fly around 5:30. The local early news comes on at 5:00. I get my info from that, and a windmill in the neighbors yard. I have one of those "weather stations"that looks like three clocks.Thermometer,Barometer and Humidity. Not really high tech.... YITS v99

I used to use the old look outside thing...but guess what....that is how I lost my A team last year...I looked outside and it looked ok...10 minutes later and The fog was so thick you could spread it with a knife...lost the whole team....now I look at www.weather.com before I fly...

Paul. You brought up something that we all need to pay close attention to with the weather. Before a Storm Front moves in and after a Storm Front passes thru.If I am going to have an Overfly it has always been on the backside of a Storm Front. It just seems to give the kit more lift and once they get so high they just keep going. My birds really perform good before and after a Front passes but I have to be very careful with the timing of the Fronts. And there don,t always have to be inclement weather associated with a Front.Sometimes I mess up and have lost a few kits.Sometimes older birds will make it back but young birds seldom do.I fell they just drift to far and can,t find their way back.I feel that weather plays an important role in our rollers and the more you learn about how weather affects the birds in your area the better they will perform for you.I never have to worry about Fog sneaking in here in the mountains but Thunderstorms can catch me off guard unless I watch the Local Radar maps before turning birds out.David
