you asked in a previous post how do you tell your birds in the air. I'll tell you how I do it. I take black electrical tape . A piece about 5 inches long fold 2 inches of it back to its self and take the remaining one inch and stick it on the center tail feathers were the black tape hangs behind the bird. Or you can take the orange marking tape like deer hundred use to mark their trail in the woods split it down the middle and use electrical tape to attach to their tail feathers. This works better than the black take because you can see it from a distance. It does not bother the birds I leave about two to 3 inches hanging off the back of the bird.you can also take food coloring mix in clear rubbing alcohol and die the white wing or tail feathers.I personally like the taping method better. Hope this helps. yours in the sport Rick

Rick,

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely give it a try. I don't see myself flying large numbers in my kits this coming year, so I may not run into any problems. I'm trying to concentrate on only a few pairs of proven birds and start small. I'll probably only have 12 to 16 birds in each kit and we all know that we lose a few early on. We'll see, but will most definitely keep this tactic in mind.

Eric
