Guys, Guys, Guys....

Okay, we've gone from Purists, to Color Breeders, To Feather Merchants, to the National Birmingham Roller Club, over to the World Cup, then back to the NBRC, throw in a mix of the NPRA, then a back to the Color Breeders, and now analyzing what the differences is among all of them. Yet it remains argumentative.

What does it matter? GUYS - take a deep breath. Again, to ONLY sound sapping and pathetic...let's try to get along. We have A LOT to learn from one another. Try not to take things out of context and just talk. We're all so much on the defensive - that when a basic question is asked, we automatically assume that the person is trying to attack us or "reveal" us for the fiend that we are. RELAX!!!!

Phantom1, Believe it or not I read all the posts on the genetics 122 of them. This site is not boreing! Its debateable and interesting! We see boths sides of the arguments and that is a fair situation, plus we get to read all of it too. I will say I have two friends that breed for color and one of them actually flys his birds and I enjoy visiting with him and talking genetics, but I don't have one bird from his place even though I think he has the best looking bronze birds in the world. I like going to see all the other kits fly in my area too. Recently the guy who won in our areas fall fly let out his kit and a few guys were making comments, I don't see one white feather in that kit, another said, yes their is, I see white in a tail, look closer. It was all fun and humorous because nobody got angry who were there in the street. Here, everyone gets to read a sentece and frankly we just dont agree on all issues, but it is educational depending on where you listen and apply what you hear on boths sides of different paths. ( Did tha make sense?) Let KGB be KGB and Scott be Scott, fact is they will be themselves and you and I. That makes more sence to me. I mean thats OK guys to agrue as long as you keep your humor in it for the rest of us!!!! It keep my tention span going and reading each week here. Bill

Hey Bill!

I just think we're all above that personally. I'm trying very hard to make amends with everyone here on this post. Not that I agree with everything they write, but they DO have valueable input to give. That's all I'm trying to say. There's never going to be a "Who's Right and Who's Wrong" post. And it will never be proven - even if so. Again the clache - "Can't we all just get along?"

Your right" I agree I'm it it becaue I like to watch pigeons Roll. Not what COLOR they are or who's blood line are they. because after one year of me having them good or bad there my blood line plane and simple. When I get to compete they will be Kim Tappenden birds for good or bad. I own them I controll what happens to them. Its so simple. I would like to think they are Pensom. Mee. Billings. Campbell.Or the likes. but bottom line' once they leave there lofts who knows what? except the mans word that flys them at the time.To me all that matters is what the birds are doing in the air on fly day. the rest is just talk.I just Joined NBRC.Don't know much about nothing.dont know much about word cup. but somday I will. right now as a new person to this all.Makes a person wonder is it worth it? seems like politic's are even it something as simple as pigeon flying with a bunch of guys world wide. Is this for fun and the title of having the best team. Or is there$$$$$$$ at the bottom of this. and as Far as cross breeding goes it seems like the guys with the Real blood would be glad they did. because to keep the goods in the air they would have to come to your birds to put the roll back in there loft.Hope this makes sence. Tapp. sorry for my spelling and one finger key pecking.

Eric I'm at a loss where this came from and why , this should have been done privately , but it is obvious that there is an under laying agenda.
Ever notice that this guy never talks pigeons.

Tapp don't let this joker blow what is a great sport for you, there are many of us that work hard to make these things happen .
There is nothing in it for us other than putting on a fly that runs smooth as humanly possible.

Scott,

Please don't take my post wrong. All I'm honestly trying to do is wrap up the debate. After all, isn't that what this last round of posts is about? We're all a bunch of great people!!! I'm sorry to get all warm and fuzzy about things. But seriously...as you've posted previously...we just raise friggin' pigeons! Birds that are poisoned in Dallas for being nothing more than a menice. I'm just trying to bring things together...

Yes, there will debates. As I've always stood for, when I feel it goes too far, sure...I'll step up. Why do I defend my stand...because I can. Nothing more meant, other than to defent such.

Please don't take the start of this thread as such. I was mearly trying to bring things to a close.

Yours in the hobby,
Eric

What does it matter when you are standing under your kit?Who is right or wrong. THIS IS A FORUM. A place for lively debate about all of the subjects that involve our beloved birds. The debates we have are ongoing since man domesticated pigeons. Nothing new here. Remember the old cliche about the kitchen temperature?
yits bro.

The key to debating on forums is to avoid getting your feelings involved. You must stick with the facts, be mechanical, keep your integrity by avoiding traps that will pull you down to a degrading level. Your approach is critical, "A soft answer turns away wrath." be honest and fair, by never twisting anyone's words.

If you always disagree in an agreeable manner you won't go away bloodied. I like to think of it as walking in the desert and coming upon some rattlesnakes. If I attack them with a stick, I'll end up getting bit. But if I use caution, I can capture them. "Be as wise as the serpent but harmless as the dove."

What Scott's issue, I think, is in regard to the point he felt he was been setup in answering few what seamed innocent questions about the clubs but realized the intention might be sinister. Nice and politically correct answers Scott. I've been on this board since about its inception, and you always said good things about the organizations and the judges. I never felt that you had anything bad to say about any of the above. In fact you always encouraged new novice people to join the NBRC and to get their feet wet with completion. Nice going...

Guys,
There is absolutely nothing sinister coming from my end, here. What Kevin and Scott need to understand is that these questions are not meant to discredit their work as WC RDs. As Scott said, they perform a thankless job and donate much of their own time and money and without guys like them, we wouldn't have a World Cup. I am just showing that the information pipeline that is being used, specfically e-mail, has its limitations and drawbacks. Case in point: Mountain West WC region was not included in the last WC committee votes on any issues. Nobody knew that a WC committee was even in session. This unfortunate event was not a problem caused by Scott, or any one individual. It is a shortcoming of the information system. We need more interaction between the WCGC and the WC RDs and the flyers that are interested in having their opinions heard. Once again, I want to be clear, I am not directing guilt or wrong-doing toward the men serving the flyers. I am simply saying the system that the WC is utilizing to dicuss issues, take votes, involve the flyers, etc. could be done more efficiently than the way it's being done now. It's amazing to me that whole regions were not represented, yet noone is concerned. What's all this crap about evil intentions? YITS Cliff

Cliff, every region is allways included on every voting issue. If they are not on the committee list then they are contacted by mail. Some RD's just do not vote. Kevin

I wish that were true, Kevin. If that is what you are being told, you are being sold a bill of goods. It is a fact that Mountain West was not contacted, and had no idea there was a session or a vote. Same with my region. Neither has the RD in my region ever been contacted. though he says he has left numerous messages all summer and has a computer and a web site, he knew nothing about the vote and of course did not participate. Something's just not right here, I'm afraid. YITS Cliff
