I talk to my birds.
This may sound silly to many, but my birds respond to my voice. They get neverous when someone else approaches my loft or kit boxes and I can settle them with my voice.
Am I imagining things or has anyone else experience anything similar?

My birds respond to my voice also. But it doesn't matter who walk out of the back door into the deck around their feeding time and they act wild letting the person know it is feeding time. Usually my birds are timmed and don't get disturbed when others around the loft not even when my dog is around.

My birds seems to react to my voice. When they are frantic at feeding time, sometimes talking to them seems to make them chill out a bit. Same for trapping in. When the whistling doesn't work, talking to them (or cussing at them...lol) seems to work sometimes. Pigeons are smarter than a lot of people think. They can recognize their owner, or the person that feeds them all of the time. Mine get edgy when someone they are not familiar with approaches the cages. Often they will even "hoot" in an alarmed fashion. If you really want to see your birds get edgy, have someone they haven't seen before come over wearing a bright red shirt. For some reason, pigeons don't like red or it alarms them. Brian.

I find mine react like Brians. They grunt or hoot or whatever you call it when my wife goes by the sun cage to my breeders. The kit birds know voice. Like if there dilly dalling around the roof peeking over and not coming to the whistle with my mouth I cuss them in fun. and before you know it there traping in. They are vary smart.I have one that soon as he lands on the roof he instantly goes to the ground and makes me make him fly back up to roof. Then he always traps first. Its like a daily game to Him.I talk to mine all the time. so I'm sure your voice calms them Nick. ps Ill get somone to put on a red shirt and watch there reaction Tapp
