Just out of curiousity, how many of you on this list have locked down your teams or plan to do so in the near future? ---------- See you in the roll! Big Al "High Plains Spinner Loft"

I will not lock down my teams. I really do not have much of a hawk problem. I fly them all winter (weather permitting). My A team is on a 3 day yo-yo rotation, my B-team Mostly 05 birds....is every other day until they are really into the roll hard. My younger bird team is every day. Of course that all could change if I get a predator problem or if the fog rolls in for a month straight like last year.

I will be locking down young birds that are showing me the goods until I know that it is safe again. The young birds going into lockdown mode will be birds up to my standard only. I want to make sure I got a good team ready for the WC and our area has a futurity fly in the spring so I don't want to take a chance with my futurity bird.

Total lock down for moulting and premeding to prepare for 2006 breeding. Also I am building a new trapdoor and extra safety door for humans. You know, no accidental escapees. Any help on trap doors welcome. Surrounding material is 1 inch cage wire. Like used in a mental instatution. Human grade wire. Going to cut into the wire. thinking of putting on the top of the door I walk in at or a side wall. Have to figure out how to attach drop perch. Would like them to slide in fast. so thier not dinner.

I have my two oldest kits on only occasional flying now. I will still fly the other four younger kits through the winter on a regular schedule unless the skys get stupidly dangerous, at which time it will be hit and miss flying for a week or so. Brian

I have my birds in lock down. I don't want to sustain the damage that I had last year. I learned from my mistakes. I'd rather have some rollers for the next season than be eat up.

No lockdown here, either. I have four kits of 05 birds, no holdovers. I can fly all winter here in Carolina. I'm still waiting on the June-July hatches to develope. Gotta see what they can do! YITS Cliff

My comp teams last fly was the Fall Fly. I am flying out (2) kits of young birds, but will lock down the more advanced team soon. I am still trying to build an old bird team, and will not lose them to the hawks. Keith
