Dave, others who I respect, I'd like to share some thoughts. I know I don't know anything so please feel free to straighten me out but from someone who's new to the NBRC I've wondered about some things.
I realize that the entire thing runs on volunteers who have lives, families, and birds to take care of. At the same time, it also seems like things move amazingly slow also. A single example, which for purposes of marketing the NBRC should be extremely important, is our website. It seems it's rarely updated. I have been a member for a few weeks and my name has not been added to the Member Directory. It would be nice in accomplishing one of my goals of starting a club in my area, i.e., promoting the NBRC and rollers in general, if people who were interested in this area that come across the NBRC site could find my name and contact info. Fly scores are another area that don't seem to be updated very quickly. Most other areas on the site seem outdated and abandoned. For all intensive purposes, this type of forum should be going on over there, (sorry Tony), but doesn't seem to be. I've gone into the Chat section a number of times only to find no one there.
Please understand that I am not criticizing but with a changing of the guard soon, I thought I might make a few suggestions. In fact, I love everything about rollers and the NBRC and the people I've met here are awesome and excellent ambassadors of the sport. There is room for improvement in certain areas however if we truly want to promote the sport. I'm not one to piss and moan but not be willing to do anything so if there is something that I can do, I'd be more than happy to help in any way I can. Thanks for indulging me and please, if I'm wrong, let me know.

Darin, Brian Middaugh takes care of the website and usualy invests alot of attention to it and is Johnny on the spot under normal circustances and does a great service for the NBRC and us the members. Right now Brian is living in a tent down on the gulf working on the Katrina disater, in fact he just called me from there last week, what he described is beyond belief. His wife is doing her best with it, for more up to date fly score's go to the Texas Cub website under the members Websites, Alex Hamleton is keeping the scores up to date there as he is the fly director.

Thanks Scott, that certainly explains many things. Is there anyway I can get some of the old articles, particularly: "Breeding Birmingham Rollers A Real Challenge" By: Bruce Cooper
Thanks!

I second that....Brian has been bugging me to buy a pair of Campbell breeders that I have...since that pair spits out little red rockets...that pair is in my loft to stay!!! Anyway...I sent him an e-mail telling him that he could borrow them for the whole breeding season and his wife e-mailed me back telling me that he was in Mississippi putting peoples lives back together....soooooo....My hat is off to him..I have some buddies from a neighboring fire dept that spent a month there and they said it was the worst thing they had ever seen and these Firemen have been around California disasters for the last 20 year. Anyway......
HEY SCOTT>>>>>>Give me a call.....you have to set a date to see some of your stuff in the air....and tear my kit apart for me to make sure I am headed in the right direction.LOL I will be off the next two weeks with a little duty injury!

Hey Darin, I suppose if you are a paid up member you can say whatever you want. LOL Actually, this site has been performing a valuable (for some LOL) public service for almost 2 years. It is better for the roller that there is more than a single place for discussion and promotion of the roller pigeon. The sport is the stronger for it.
FACT: In less than 2 years this site has literally generated more than 1 Million page views.
FACT: There are far more people who read these pages than who ever post.
FACT: After reading your post 234 of our site visitors just clicked over to the NBRC website to never return here. (just kidding) Actually, suggesting people should be somewhere else and not on this site is considered spamming. I know you did not know this. We webmasters can be rather sensitive to this. LOL
FACT: You can post your club on the site here: List Your Club
Perhaps the NBRC could link to “All Roller Talk” and support our efforts to make this site the best on the web. Heck, in trade, this site could offer visitors the opportunity to signup for NBRC club membership online if they wanted me to. Anyone interested?
For the record, Roller-Pigeon.Com is a member of the NBRC and has recently begun submitting valuable All Roller Talk posts to the NBRC for publishing in the bulletin. So smile, your username might become famous!

Hey Tony,
I certainly don't want to be guilty of spamming, LOL!, and as you know, I love this site and I visit it everyday. Thanks for the facts and I hope you realize I did not mean to belittle this site in any way, I think it's excellent. I was simply making the point that it seemed like the NBRC site wasn't as updated or as good as it could be which could be a big help in promoting rollers and the NBRC world-wide.
Regarding roller-pigeon.com, what you have going here is excellent so please, based on the your new posting policy, please don't ban me for 30 days or send me hate-mail in my email, LOL! And don't misunderstand about my feelings about the NBRC or our site, it is an excellent resource. (Dang, there I go again, spamming away, sorry)
I love everything about rollers and anything to do with rollers and really appreciate what you do here.
Thanks!
