Hi all,
I have a problem with one bird. little background on him. this bird is a dun self with black bars, about 6 months old, moulted head and body, except last three flights and tails, does not show any signs of sickness, flies right, about two months ago, he came into the roll slowly from 10 to 15-20-30 as the weeks past. man he was a smoker, matter of fact I was planing to stock him next year, but then bam one day about a month ago, he hasn't roll one bit. I see him setting up, then tail ride about a foot and stop, never rolling. he hasnt roll in a month. what could be going on guys?, I need some answer, because I really, really like the bird. in the sport, thong

There are so many things that can cause a bird to go stiff. Sometimes weather, feeding up for the colder weather and the list goes on. I would suggest trying to feed the bird by itself and play with the food. Maybe do a little worming to see what happens. I had a nice little hen go stiff after she was chased by a hawk. She was a dynamite little hen and then having the devil on her tail...I guess...scared the roll out of her! She could be mentally strong and found a way to fight the roll.
How is the rest of the team acting. Have they shut down a little too. Try moving to a more active team if you have one. If we could figure out these little bugers...we would all be at the top of the game.

Thong, Sounds like the bird's character might be starting to show (strong). Let the bird finish moulting before making any conclusions though. If he's still resisting the roll after the moult then you might need to find a feeding program that brings out the roll in him. Russ
