I guess I see Scott moving away as letting his mouth write a check his birds wouldn't cash. He has a history of being less than sporting, enough said.
Jim
Here is another attempt at charactor assination on me on a public forum (slobberknocker forum) not even close to enough said Jim, I am dying to hear this one , please share with all of us. Scott Campbell

Someone please explain to me how anyone can feel that all of this slander and name calling from both sides of the game can have any positive impact on the sport of roller flying. Staying in my backyard for sure! Geo.

Scott, when you reach to a caliper such as yours whether on a public forum or in competition, you just need to learn how to doge the Speers. When you fly like an eagle, everybody want to shoot you down, but when you fly like a pigeon nobody wants to harm you. Just keep that in mind…

Scott,
I will ask you the same as I asked on Earl's List. Please refrain from copying things from our forum in order to post on other lists. If you have a problem with someone, please take it offline with the person one on one or you may contact me or one of the other moderators on our forum.
I have asked those on our forum to refrain from mentioning you or Ken in any way. The post you have made mention of above will be removed from our forum and I thank you for bringing it to my attention.
I do thank you for your continued visits, support, and promotion of my site.
Bob
PS...In reference to a post on the big thread where Cliff brought up a personal problem between you and another breeder, I must say that I think Cliff was out of line on that one and I think it should never have even been brought up.

Bob if is someone is slandering me on a your public forum I will paste it and post it as it pertains to what is going on over here expesially since I am not allowed access to your forum , and I will hit it head on and want an explanation. I read your post over there and read where you stated that such things as this are being taken and used out of context, the context of this is obvious and complete. I am still waiting for Jims reply

Scott,
That's hardly slander. If that's the worse anyone can say about you, then you are truly a Saint.
If you guys weren't so obsessed with this color issue by stirring up strife every chance you get you wouldn't be a target.
It's like a bunch of kids fighting over the milk bottle... let it go!

Whoever this Jim guy is...he must not have any idea about your flying scores and experience. Anybody who knows you...knows that your birds can back it up. I just find it funny...it was just a bet...you did not challenge one particular person..you left it open. Clif took the bait. It was just a bet and that is it. The rest was blown up by all the lookie looooos like myself. LOL!! Let Jim talk...you are the one with the respect of many rollermen around the country.

Every one know's how good Scott's birds is... I can't see why anyone would bad mouth his birds. I don't think Jim meant to bad mouth any one if it is the same Jim I met once. Are we talking about Jim Osche? If we are, I have alot of respect for them veteran fliers. He is a great guy and I highly doubt he meant any harm. I think highly of both gentleman - Scott and Jim. I think Jim's test of time in the hobby stands for itself. Great guys if you asked me. Don't know why some things were said but things can and will be twisted. Too bad we lost Jim to the bordering state. He sure would of been a great asset to our small core of fliers. Thor

Once again the the color boys run over here in a pack. Slobber talking about the sanctitty of his site. Public implies exactly what it is Bob. Public site! I left your site after you cried about KGB copying from your site. Your solution was to disable the right click on the mouse, thereby crippling the ability of YOUR members to copy or paste on your site.Which proves that Scott didn`t copy from your site. In your overzealous efforts you discomfited the very people you were offering the site to. Made me shake the dirt of your site from my feet and never return. As far as Scott, I don`t see anyone clamoring for Jims birds. Scott is just okey dokey in my book.

Kenny H., What do you mean when you say "the color boys"? Should we characterize that as a supprotive, positive, complimentary term; or a critical, negative, condescending one that you are using to describe your fellow men in the hobby? To my knowledge, Jim Osche doesn't even breed rare color birds, yet you have posted comments and pictures of your own rare-color birds. I'm confused. YITS, Cliff

Kenny H.,
I can remember when you also left this site and said that you would 'never return' due to your posts being edited. Hmmm.? This was back when everyone recognized your name on this site as Red Neck Hippie. So you change your name to Velo99 and sneak back in here and then try and complain about the other site? Why? What gives Kenny? Care to explain your position of playing both sides? JR

JR I really don`t think 260+ posts would qualify as "sneaking". I wanted a more roller related handle, hence Velo99.I have been signing my name for about two months now. Old news bro. Who are you with one post under a new handle to call me out?
Cliff, My "rare colored" birds as you call them are naturally occurring in Birmingham rollers. That is how I got them. The topic was Slobbers overprotectiveness of his site not color. Which was simply a reference to members of that site. Not meant to be a slam. YITS KennyH

Just for the record, Kenny, the Indigo in our Andalusians is generally believed to be an imported color modifier, not naturally occurring, thouogh the issue is debated because of how easily indigo is hidden by recessive red and ash red check.
Since this thread started referencing Jim Osche, I also want to set the record straight on another item. I have learned that in addition to his Jaconettes/Baker line and Ivan Hanchettt line, Jim also has some of the James Turner family with color modifiers. Jim is a long-time roller man who has judged competitions and supported our sport in many ways. He has forgotten more about pigeons than most guys will ever learn.
It behooves us all to refrain from trashing each other personally, based on philosophy, family of birds, etc. Nobody wins , when we do that, least of all the hobby. YITS, Cliff

Cliff, Got mine from a red bar cock x blue spread hen. Both are excellent performers, for the record. In addition, for the record,is there a stenographer? Maybe you should say "in my opinion". Actually it started with Jim O slamming Scott not Jims birds. Actually Scott started it by going to the other site and daring to relay a bit of info and pissing off Slobber.MMMMMM Scott is in trouuuble. lmao YITS KennyH

Well, from reading the sentence that Jim Ohaus wrote in regards to Scott shows that he stepped his bounds especially in the last half of the sentence. To me that is uncalled for. Jim could be the nicest man on earth and the best flyer in the hobby, but with a comment such as that one shows otherwise. Sometimes it is a bad judgment call that is made by that person but if it is then an apology is due as it should be. Nevertheless, it is way over due.

Well,
Everyone knew when Kenny Changed his name...big deal!!! He still signed Kenny H after a post. So...What if I changed my name to be a roller related name instead of a Fire related name. Would I then be a sneaky little boy. I do not Think that Kenny was sneaking. LOL!! Anyway...I think that bad mouthing someone on another site is just plain MEAN and disrespectful. Where I grew up...unless you are man enough to say the same thing to there face...you keep your yapper shut. Most people think it is easy to talk smack on a computer..but the roller world is small...when it comes to conventions and flys...people who yack...may have to back up there words face to face...so.....be NICE...it is one thing to debate..but to be MEAN...well...is MEAN!...
Better watch out because a red neck hippey Velo 99 is sneak'n around here!

Cliff, Didn't know Jim had any other birds besides his Plona based family that he has had for a long time now and some Turner stuff he has been only flying. He stated last to me that he just wanted to fly these Turner stuff until he had bred his birds - since settling in to his new place. He wanted to fly birds so the Turners would have to do for the time being. He reported that he was surpise those Turner birds sure could spin. I still owe Jim a Grizzle bird. He wanted to add grizzle back to his family which no longer has it. Since I have the same blood, it would be a good cross. I checked out his foundation bird's pedigree and was quite surpise to see how close it was to my current birds. I guess, good birds all trace back to just a few birds. Now, only if I'd stop kissing off the birds long enough to prove out a solid performer for Jim. I don't want to send any thing less then top notch so it'll have to log in atleast 1 year and a half. I thought Jim was quite a character when I met him. I don't know why he said what he did but that seemed out of character for him. Scott seems to be a great guy as well. I have no idea what happened there. I think Scott would like Jim if they met and vice versa. Two great guys if you asked me. Thor

Hey guys, after reading thru some of these posts, I am second guessing my decision to build a loft and kit boxes and expose my self and eager 7 year old son to this kind of negativity. Up to this point our experience had been nothing but fun and positive, now I am not so sure.

Ida,
You do not have to second guess yourself. If you look at the date of the original posts. They were quite a long time ago. The very first post...stemmed from a heated debate on this site quite awhile ago about color breeding vs. performance breeding. There are a couple of threads that are kind of heated...but debating is a good thing..if done correctly it shows the pros and cons of two different point of views. The postive threads...far outway the negative thread. Plus...the comments of a few should not represent the feelings of many. There are a lot of respectable pationate individuals on this forum...from individuals that spent days helping Katrina Victims, to Teachers, computer techs, plumbers, construction worker, police officers, retired old farts, preachers, firefighters and the list goes on. An old friend told me just the other night...this hobby is not about the birds...but about the people. I hope that you reconsider and find the "whos who" thread and see the many walks of life that have one thing in common..and that is Birmingham Roller Pigeons...so...add your name and your sons to the list and feed off of the many years of experience on this site.

Don't let these few fanatics discourage you from keeping Rollers. Rollermen that act like this are the extreme minority.
For some reason internet forums attract the bad apples. It's like that in all types of forums, not just Roller forums. They are called Trolls. They hide behind their monitors spouting off a big mouth, but in person they are much different. In person they are good folks. I have hosted many forums through the years and have always kicked the Trolls out because one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch.
You can get a lot out of forums like this but you must ignore the trash and look for the good. Remember, they are the extreme minority and by no means represent real Rollermen around the world, nor the National Birmingham Roller Club.

To all who read this post......I am not by far a "Newflyer" to the pigeon hobby.Only to the B/Roller hobby.I've been into rollers for almost 1yr now. As I read the post in this forum I have learned alot about the B/Roller, but I have also read many things that dissappoint me in here. For one, I dont think that I would ever fly in your competitive flys. WAY too much drama here. All the name calling and bickering that goes on ,is not what I want to read about. This forum is supposed to be an educational, informative and hands on site to learn from. Not, to hear grown MEN like little crying children ....calling names, crying "My birds are BETTER then yours" and "My birds are best..blaha..blaha..blaha. I once heard in a Dog tracking test If a dog Can Track.... a dog Can Track. Same goes for the birds. If a bird Can Roll...a bird Can Roll. To me it makes no difference what color that bird is...If it can roll...a bird can roll. I don"t see where the color has anything to do with the ROLL.Just my view on this topic, seen from the eyes of a beginner in the B/Roller hobby. Thanks for your time Paul Fly High and Roll ON

To IDAROLL and any others that are fairly new here. I have been coming to this site for a couple of years now and I can tell you personally that the experienced hobbiests here are the best you will find anywhere on the net. Tony has built an amazing site and the guys who visit here make it number one. As for the bickering, that happens everywhere even in life. If you let the little stuff that happens on here affect your choice on whether or not to get into the hobby then you are too sensitive and going to miss out on the most amazing hobby of your life. Your kids will absolutely love it. Worse things happen in my everyday job and life than the little spats on here. These guys are so jam packed with knowledge and passion for the hobby it is educational just to read. They will answer any question you have a bout rollers even if they have answered it a thousand times before. Why? Because theyt love this hobby with all their heart they want to share their knowledge and get more people involved. I am not new at raising Birmingham Rollers but I still learn things on here most days. In the past there have been plenty of misunderstandings and down right arguements but in the end everyone agrees to disagree and all is forgiven. One thing you must remember there are many different levels to this hobby. There are the back yard hobbiest who raises birds in their own back yard for their enjoyment and maybe the entertainment of their family and friends, ( IDAROLL just starting out you will probably be in this category for awhile). Then theres the guy who has been working with the same family of birds for awhile or even many many years who is so addicted his wife threatens to divorce him unless he comes in from the coop. This guy is hooked all he thinks about is the next World Cup and getting his precious birds up to top performance. Now on this site guys ask questions there isn't going to be just one answer several are going to agree and several aren't then there is going to be one or two who are so out in left field that eventually they become frustrated they make a stupid decision and attack a persons character and name. Now I don't know of any man who won't defend his name. My question is why shouldn't that person defend themselves? Another problem is a constructive debate will happen and lots of great points will be posted then once again there is a couple people who are sitting on the side lines and get all riled up and jump in with malicious comments once again either attacking a persons character or name. If everyone would stick to the facts then you wouldn't see as many negative posts. Now I personally don't mind heated discussions the thing that makes me extremely annoyed is when people who have absolutely nothing constructive to add decide to randomly join a side and begin attacking a guy. As I have said in the past if people are really upset and decide to post they should write it on a word program leave it over night then read it in the morning. If you still feel that it is important and relevant cut and paste it to this site. If in the end you decide not to join this great hobby it is your loss.
Just My Two Cents!! C.J.

Ida, Just like TV and movies, forums require a bit of a thick skin and the ability to change channels. Some things are said from time to time that are less than wholesome, feelings get displayed. To some people that is a sign of weakness and they feel the need to move in for the kill. Just overlook those things or don`t read the thread. This sport, relatively new to the States, is all about passion. When you mix passion and testosterone, the result is sometimes a bit volatile. Use a little common sense and keep in mind this is the BEST place to find info on the web PERIOD.Welcome to the forum. YITS

Idaroll-don't bail. This is the most informative and helpful site that I have found so far. At times I have found attitudes and "S" stirring frustrating, but if it gets to you just don't read those posts. Most of the "attitude" comes from passion for these birds. A true belief that "my way" is the only way for the betterment of the hobby. Not my way of thinking, but I am so new-who am I to judge. All I know is that the guy that comes off as a real jerk in one post may be the first to come to your aid when you have a question or problem. Hang in, this is a great hobby and a great site. Geo.

Gentlemen, thanks for the feedback. Believe me I'm not hypersensitive or naive to think that differences of opinion exsist. However It is this hobby we have each chosen to try to escape the baggage of the dayly grind and for those moments watch and enjoy the show...These birds kept me out of alot of trouble when I was younger and I hope they do the same for my kids. Thanks Dan
