My birds originated from that same line once he got the birds from McCauly , I know both Kieser and Borges well and they live close by.
These birds have done well in competition , Kieser and Borges both have sent birds back to Sparks.

I came across this thread and it was very ambiguous. Also, most people who write / talk about Herb or others really do not even know them! Herb is a very knowledgeable roller man. It was a good thing that he maintained and improved Howard’s birds. If you want to know something about someone asks them directly.

This thread was ambiguous because the original questioner had deleted his question. So I deleted my answer because it may have sounded like I was questioning Mr Sparkes integrity or his rollers. I would not question his birds or his integrity. Sparkes used McCauley pigeons to create an excellent line of rollers. Kevin

I might be wrong as it was before my time but what did Sparks create ? that is a question and not mean't to be sarcastic .
I know due to him many fine birds were brought up to N Calif. when he brought up Howards birds to Joe K and Joe B and left them.

Didnt he re create the old Pensom line ? Made it Better.
Has anyone ever seen his Birds fly...
I have a very old video of him along with Reed, Curtis and others but it only shows him Flying a small Hawk in a big field.
