Hey all,

I can't recall whom it was that was in Ireland. GREAT news...my wife won the trip and we'll be going April 27th through May 2nd. I would LOVE the opportunity to spend an afternoon meeting with you all over a few pints! LOL!

Yours in the hobby,

Hi Steve.

How did you get on with Daves birds, did you get many from the pair?. I had 6 pair on loan from him and had a few problems with the youngsters.

Hey, Al. Have you seen the NBRA auction? - a breeding pair of Dave's birds is up to £450, so far.

How are you doing with the birds you managed to breed from Dave's pairs over winter? I've had my fair share of problems down here, and I suspect I'm going to be avoiding the winter in future, unless I'm desperate.

You probably know that Bird Flu has now hit Europe and many countries are ordering the locking down of 'tame' birds, as well as poultry. We could be in for a bumpy ride.

Hi Shaun.

I read today about the first case in France so it wont be long now I'm sure.

I am having to get rid of a fare number of birds I'm afraid, I was paid of a couple of weeks ago so things are kind of up in the air at the moment, I will obviosly keep all the Mosely birds and I have some Birkett pairs also that I will hold onto.

I am still keen to get a fly organised up here and will concentrate on one kit and hopefully we can get things organised. Dave and Graham have offered to come and judge so I dont want to let an offer like that slip by!

I am starting out on my own though and will have to see how things go. A couple of jobs I have line up are away from home so things wont be quite as easy, one south of the border infact.

Are you planning any youngsters from Daves birds?

Cheers.

Al.

Sorry to here that, Al. I hope things get better for you. Dave's four that I have, are yet to show themselves as cocks and hens, but even when they do, I'm likely just to keep them as kit birds. I've got far too much going on with the Masons and also another family which I got first. I think breeding the Moseleys would just be an added complication. I think if I were to try is stock properly, I would try and pay the going rate for one of his breeding pairs to cut out all the trial and error.

If this bird flu thing forces a directive to keep our birds locked down, I'm going to split my pairs up; there's no point in breeding youngsters which can't be trained. I would imagine Ireland will have the same problem. It would also have the knock-on effect for the UK competitions and possibly the world cup from the UK perspective.

Shaun
