Hy Paul-I had aqueston for you or anyone else.I know you have Rubys--do you fly them separate from your other families if you dont are there differences in flying feeding etc.I really dont have the liberty my first year to fly them separate-so I am just looking for a heads up of what to look for.My other birds are from Norm Reed background.
Thanks Mike

Fr.Mike,

Yes I do fly Ruby Rollers. I fly Ruby rollers and Roe/Emami (jac). I also have a nice pair of Scott Campbell breeders. Anyway...When I started with a lot of families I weeded them down to the ones that were closest character, size and feed reactions. That is what I have now. The ruby rollers are birds that LIKE to roll. They roll on mix or straight wheat...the quality and speed gets better when I put them on the wheat. They are very frequent but not two frequent. They are VERY fast! They kit good and fly at a nice speed. My jacs are almost as fast, not quite as frequent, kit a little tighter and are a little deeper. The quality is very good too. I have lost more Rubys during training then my jacs..I don't know what that means. My Campbell birds in comparison are....well the campbell birds have the best quality...the depth is in between the Ruby and Jacs, the speed is about the same, the Campbells kit like GLUE...they too "Like" to roll too. The campbell birds are very strong birds..meaning the can get powerfull on you real quick if you don't keep an eye on them...but with the power comes a bird that can roll and roll and roll the same from begining till end. So , they are all very close to each other based on "my" selections and what I like. They all act about the same with feeding.

They Ruby rollers fly very well with my Campbell and jac birds. I fly them in a mixed kit of my best birds. My B-team that is mainly Ruby Roller younger birds...is very good too..but they seem to work just as good with a mixed kit as they do together...but that is just what "I" notice.

The ruby rollers are birds that you do not have to starve to get to perform..they seem to do very well with the yo yo system with 2 cups for 20 birds of High protein feed on the day they fly(after they fly) and then on the second day..wheat Milo 1.5 cups and wheat milo 1 cups and then fly the next day..So Fly..Rest...Rest...Fly. SOOOOOOO>>>>I am really happy with them as well as my Jacs and Campbells...that is why they are still in my loft.LOL!! People that have seen my birds..think they are OK...but they could be... not wanting to hurt my feelings..LOL

Right now My A team consists of 7 Jacs, 1 Lavin, 2 Campbell, 1 Andalusian, 5 Ruby Rollers. If you have Any other questions feel free to E-mail me at paulfullerton@sbcglobal.net.

rock and ROLL
