Just venting here..I just don't get it ...our borders meet, and hundreds of thousands of birds migrate from Canada to the U S Of A each yr, but i cannot get a pair of pigeons shipped to me here in Canada from someone in the U S Of A , without giving up an arm and a leg , or turning over my next 3 born children..lol It's just not fair , as there are some great rollers throughout the states and here in canada that we should be able to share with one another without all the red tape.I know it's because of disease etc , but give me a break..whats the odds ?? I realize that it can be done , but they make it so expensive and complicated that you just kinda say screw it. If anyone has any input as to an easier way for us to exchange rollers , PLEASE PLEASE ..let me know. I am willing to pay an arm and a leg for decent rollers , just not impressed with what we have to go through to get to the final destination. I e-mailed Bob at Slobberknockerlofts , and he said if i knew someone in the states, it would make it easier to get some to me , but otherwise , he could not help me out. Sorry about my venting , but again , it seems like a whole lotta BUNK to me .

I've brought them in from Canada and it was a pain but not bad once you know the procedures , not sure about how it works in reverse though , now for a little hit , you have some of the best up there already so why bring more in ?

Vibey, I deal with the same BS here in Hawaii.I have been waiting for 2 pair of provens that I bought last summer. These are comming in from California.I dont blame the fancier as much as the procedure. Another thing to keep in mind is weather, when bringing in birds. They will not ship above 85 degrees or below 10 degrees.Aloha,Todd

Hey Vibey, just more bureaucracy. Some guy sitting in an Ivory Tower somewhere telling all the rest of us how to live our lives.
I have checked the Internet to ship birds to Canada, have not seen anything that's of any use. If you find out anything let me know. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Yes, the Postal system is a joy to us all. Just look for Rollers in your area. Some one in Canda must have some.

Vibey, I don't know about you but there are darn good birds all ready in Canada. On a flip note, I heard Mr. Neibel use to cross the border to ship his birds. Mr. Neibel did this for a fellow here back in '89. I am pretty sure this was a common pratice to share good birds with the rest of the world. Mr. Neibel is one creative fellow. He had a ton of ways to sneak in birds in and out. Tucking them in his coat arms, crossing borders, etc. No wonder he was such a great flier. A very special person he was - no doubt the fancy lost a great one. You are blessed to have so many of his birds in your back yard. Thor

Vibey, How far are you from Saschawan, Spelling? I sent some good birds to a guy there named Brian Beach. I have not talked to him in a few years But if he kept going with those birds. I would be hard pressed to believe He don't have a clutch of good ones.. Another is your world cup winner John Wiens.. If I was looking for a Mentor in Canada,, he would be my first stop!! Good Luck Mongrel Lofts

Cliff, Yup. Easy as pie, drop trap . Nothing on the other side for them to grab onto. The door is made from hardi-soffet. I liked the fact it was ventilated and seemed to me to it would be a good door. Won`t rot or warp. Good stuff. I built my loft from a smartwood soffet sheet material that is hardened and primered to be warp and rot resistant. Hence the paint job. I was kinda worried about the fumes but not really. Just a reason to paint it I guess. LOL The cock is a red bar carrying the andy. I have an andy from last year and a different hen that is a smoker. This one has an even better hen as a mom. I am keep the fingers crossed Kenny H

Kenny,
Due to the Texas heat, don't you need some type of ventelation on the top and the bottom of those boxes. Maybe you have them but not shown.
