O.K. So here are a few questions for everyone! When did you or when will you start breeding this year. When will you finish? How many young are you hoping to raise? How many kits of birds will you keep? What do you do with excess birds? What breeds are you raising? How many birds in total will you winter.
O.k. here is my info, I haven't started yet. It will probably be in the next couple of weeks because it is still way too cold. It is supposed to be nice all this week but the weather tends to be unpredictable until April. Although all birds have been photographed and catalogued. I usually have about 60 young by the time I am done. I am hoping closer to 100 this year buit that is with a lot of fosters. I will probably end up with three kits of between twelve and 20. My excess birds that aren't good are usually food for oriental gentleman. I am raising Birmingham Rollers. Is there any other kind. LOL If everything works out hopefully a hundred. Just My Two Cents!! C.J.

When did you or when will you start breeding this year.
Ans) Feb 1st is when I have started
When will you finish?
Ans) When it will get HOT (around June)
How many young are you hoping to raise?
Ans) About 30+
How many kits of birds will you keep?
Ans) I only keep best birds. Not sure how many that will be. Need to try in the air.
What do you do with excess birds?
Probably use them for fostering or fly them out next year and see if they improve or if there are too many will sell to cover the feed cost or give away
What breeds are you raising?
Only Birmingham Rollers
How many birds in total will you winter
Ans)? (sorry did not get your question)
Thanks, -Rauf

When did you or when will you start breeding this year. Paired them up Thanksgiving weekend as I usually do.
When will you finish? When my bands are gone. I will probably stopped once the first 100 series are used up. I'm at #55 at the moment.
How many young are you hoping to raise? No more than 100 this year.
How many kits of birds will you keep? Probably six kits this year.
What do you do with excess birds? Cull um. Some get sold to the bird farm, some get killed.
What breeds are you raising? Amercian Competition Rollers, Bellneck Rollers, American Rollers, West of England Tumblers and MFC Helmets.
How many birds in total will you winter Winter? If that means how many do you keep. It will range from between 250-500 pigeons.

I paired on New Years Day. I will breed til I fill all fifty bands I ordered this year. I am stepping up to two kits this season. I also have a thirty five bird box for the y/b`s. I will fill the second kitbox then the yb side Including breeder pairs I will have a total capacity of ninety birds. The extras/culls I will have after next season will go to friends or the BBQ grille. Kenny H
