I have a pair which stopped sitting on eggs. They were sitting all week but now they quit. Eggs looks fine. Eggs are weak old. Any thoughts why they all of sudden stopped sitting? Thanks, -Rauf

Hi Sid I think they got off them because the eggs are no good -not fertile. Some pairs know and will abandon them.Iv`e had this happen to me a number of times and I`ve put th eggs under another pair, only to find out later they are not fertile. It`s best to throw them out if they won`t sit on them ---------- STARFIRE

Sid, last year a pair that I got from Dave Szab. did the same thing on their third round. I called Dave in a panic and he said"Throw the eggs away they are probably not fertile." Cock was actually driveing the hen while she tried to set on the eggs. I took the eggs and broke them-they were not fertile. Pair went on to raise several more rounds of young with no problems. Geo.

Hello guys, I did not check the eggs but pretty sure they were good. After re-thinking bit I am close to what have happened. This was actually foster pair. I successfully switched the eggs (they both good pair and foster pair layed on same time).
The foster hen is very aggressive and I need to move nestbowl because it came all the way where the feed cups were...Boy! She would not let me do it and I do not want to lose eggs so I decided to do it during night time and I did, I guess they got scared...next day or day after I did not remember they stopped sitting...
Another thing I noticed is cock would not sit and force hen to sit all the time, it may be another cause...may hen do not want to do 24 hours job.
