It depends if you have a place setup to stay or not. Say if you drive to a place 4 hours or more away, you would need to rest a night before heading back home wouldn't you? 3 hours or less one way is doable for a days travel. Driving tired can be deadly. Personally, the furthest I would drive with out spending a nights rest in and around the town is 3 hours. If there is a place to rent or setup, then distances means nothing. Think about it, if you drive 4 or more hours to get there... then spend 1 hour per each flier in that town or area and you have at least 3 fliers there... that would boil down to roughly 7 plus hours. Factor in the time you would need to drive from flier to flier and that would be another hour to 2 hours. 9 hours in and you still need to head back home. Let's not even go to the time you spend eating, gasing, and talking rollers. Any one willing to do that without a good nights rest is crazy. Kind of like going on hunting trips. If you don't spend a night or two over there, don't expect to travel far. Thor

Distances means nothing! Guys who complain about it need to realize everyone is in the same playing field. Some guys cry fowl others enjoy the journy. I don't know why any one would care about distance in this hobby. I may complain alittle if I drove that distance to see your B team or a young team. If some one drives that distance, you should put up the best you have. Jim, I don't see a point to this post. There is no correct answer as every one lives different life styles. Some have families and others don't. Some are loners and others like the Roller company. I like visiting other fliers. It keeps things new and interesting. I also like the difference of opinion. This hobby sure can be boring if you make it boring. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is driving tired. I have done it acouple of times in the past on hunting trips... not something I would care to do. I just visited two guys up North this weekend. Had a blast and saw two very good teams with some super performers. Left at 8 a.m. and didn't get back home until around 7 p.m. It was a day I will always remember as it has been one of the best Roller trips I have done thrus far. The guys who isn't putting in the miles is missing out. Days like that I just had just don't come every day. Every chance you have at one, take it in full stride. You won't regret it. Thor

mr knaylor; 1200 miles 3 days =400 milesper day... 200 miles there, 200 miles back,..at 55 miles per hour, aprox 4 hr there and 4 hrs back seems excessive, dosent leave much time for anything else i feel not a good minimum. but half dose not seem too much
