Mike, here is my position:
I read Jim's post many times after Scott replied to see if it requires a remedy. I chose not to intervene at that point of time and pull the trigger too soon, which I thought Jim’s post was harmless.
However, the posting policy does not allow the discussion of religion or politics in this forum, so please refrain from responding and contributing to this post until a time when Tony and I discuss this issue offline.
I understand the American feelings toward this touchy subject, but Jim's remarks are nothing new. You hear it everyday from Democrats and anybody who is against the war in Iraq and you hear it from people who are tired of paying the high prices of oil and heating their houses. He did not say anything negative about our armed forces nor did he say anything negative about the American integrity. Although, Jim stated his opinion on this website, which was poor judgment from his part, but it does not require the extensive outcry and the Americanism for response just because he is Canadian.
Our enemies are the Al-Qaida organization and its followers, not the Arabs and the Muslim world, and please let’s not forget it. People who criticize our president for some good or poor judgments the administration has made are not our enemy either. You can agree with this administration or don’t agree with them, which have nothing to do with Birmingham rollers and do not promote the sport of our hobby. So any political remarks will be deleted for you, whether you like it or not.
I understand also that a few members don’t like Jim because of his earlier behavior when he joined in. So, please don’t allow that to be the biggest contributor to your response against his posts and against anything he says or do around here. Let’s put our differences a side and let’s get along. Thank you.

Roller Pigeons: Sanctuary From Reality
While I do not know anyone personally or immediately affected by the 9-11 attack, I do have several family members in the military that have served or are now serving on our frontlines of defending freedom abroad and at home.
They and their comrades and the first responders have my utmost respect, appreciation and prayers for their willingness to sacrifice for the rest of us.
I am reminded of the evil that exists in our world just by watching the evening news and listening to the radio. It is my desire to have this site be a sanctuary from the harsh realities of life that so many in uniform are protecting us from.
Going on with the good life and the pursuit of happiness is our best response to those that would perpetrate terror on us civilians and an appropriate way to honor the sacrifices made by others protecting our freedom.
