I was contacted about this pigeon that was strayed in. Does anyone recognize this band number and its possible owner?

Forget um RU. Most of the suckers around here that trap in a roller, keep it, even with a phone number on it's leg.

Damn!
Even if the person who strayed in the bird does not know where it came from or the bloodline? There could be a host of problems with that particular bird(s).

It's a sad reality around here RU. The only calls I EVER have gotten were from some neighbor who found the bird walking around in his yard. Never a call from a pigeon guy. I have had them come back from overflys six months later, all fat and sassy with the phone number bands still attached. Someone had them. I even had a pet shop call once that sold rollers and got one of my lost birds from someone and it still had the number band on it which is how the pet shop contacted me. There are a number of guys in the greater SoCal area that will proclaim that if you lose it, it's fair game and the finder owns it if they trap it in. I hope you can get some of your's back, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a call. Brian.

A racing pigeon guy rang me last week. He lived two miles from me and had found my phone number through the national pigeon association I'm affiliated to. He asked me if I had lost any rollers, as he might have one of mine. However, he said if I had, I would have to give him some indication as to the ring number, to be sure it was mine. He then went onto describe a bird with a very short beak and a crest. So although my racing pigeon man from down the road, didn't have a clue what a roller looked like, he did take the time to track me down to see if I'd lost one. I thanked him for taking the time to find the owner. He said "No problem" and that he had two other guys to try. What a gent.

I lost some birds in an overfly ,about two weeks later a man in a town 25 miles away called and ask if i had lost a pigeon. He caught her roasting somewhere at his house wrote down the information on the band, got on the internet, got ahold of some lady , that helped him find where the band came from, and who that series was sold too,got the phone book and called me. IS THAT AWSOME OR WHAT she was a bird i really did not want to lose a 30'bird. did a great job for me in 11 bird fly. i wonder if she flew in circles all the way to brownwood the town she was found in , i still need to find about 20 more. LOL I CALL IT A BLESSING FROM GOD later, jerry
