I am sure that this topic has been discussed on previous post. However, i found this site about 3 weeks ago and new to the forum. There are to many post for me to go back and try to find this subject. I am very busy, like most that are not retired. I have a family of 5 and work two jobs. Therefore, my time is limited. I would like to know the simpliest way to breed one good cock bird to 3+ hens? Again, my time is limited, therefore, looking for the simpliest, easiest way to get the most out of these birds. Thanks, SJP

If you don't have the time, then it is not for you. Allot of fanciers don't attempt it because of the tremendous time you need to breed using this method. It is not that easy once you get the setup ready because it requires allot of your time.
Get Mr. Kowalski book and it he explains of a good proven method in a chapter by itself. It is best to illustrate than to try to explain it.

I posted the same question a couple of months ago and received some very useful responses - so it really would be worthwhile taking a look. I'd read the part in Kowalski's book that Jay mentioned and I was intrigued as to whether anyone had tried it with any degree of success. It seems the results are variable, to say the least. Things like getting the accommodation size right, having the right ratio of hens to the cock, ensuring that all hens can see the cock (otherwise they may not sit the eggs for the duration) - that sort of thing.
I did try it briefly; I had a number of spare hens, sitting around not doing much, so I stuck a decent cock in with them every day for a week. A number of the hens squatted, he did the business, but no eggs. To add insult to injury, two of the hens later on paired up and are now sitting on four eggs. Great.
