UPDATE: I got knocked out of first by Alex Hamilton`s score of 756. I will know tonight if anyone else beat me out. Probably not. I did make an observation though. To qualify in this region one would have to score over 500 points. Last year was 700 or better I think. We have a pretty tough region to be just 30 flyers.

Velo, Have you looked back for the past few years to see who the qualifiers have been for your region?

Oh yeah , I play fantasy sports and am a stat freak. The only one to come close was Walter Teal, last year when he scored like 350 I think. Then again look at me,mutt birds, first fly,507. go figger. YITS v99

I like the fact that you choose to do things your own way and are able to make such a powerful statement on your first time out. Keep up the good work!

What I mean is, that you aren't necessarily trying to mimic the guys in your own region by flying the same birds as they are. From what I've been reading, you are flying 3 different families? And able to score 500 points? That says something.

Ok Now I read ya. Ya dance with the ones that brung ya. Actually probably closer to six families. Turner 1 Higgins 2 Cheney 1 Cheney-Talyor 4 Taylor 4 Lavin-Turner1 Mutts 4 I breed out of the air.At the very least someone elses air that I trust. yits v99 PS One other thing, With the exception of one cock bird all of my breeders have pretty much the same body type. I kinda figgered if they had the same type they "should" respond similarly. I still couldn`t have done it by myself. No way. You guys taught me what to do and was for the most part correct for my birds. After I learned my birds I knew what would work and what wouldn`t from you guys bouncing ideas off of me from your own personal experiences.

Kenny there is no "you must have X amount of points" loose judges mean high scores and stricter judges mean lower scores. Scott
PS good job !!

It was truly a great experience as a flyer and as RD. Aris and I are the two qualifiers.

Guys,
I fly Sunday morning. I have encountered a problem though. During the quals. One of my good birds broke off three secondaries on each side. A few days before that another of my good birds bumped and hit the patio roof. Been kinda squirelly since. He is getting better, just not fast enough. This leaves me only 16 birds to put up. Problem is I have one more bird thats a question mark. He isn`t a consistent bird and cost me some points last time because of outbirding.I think he is going thru the last adult change. He is 9 months.
I have one squeak at four months who can at least hang with the kit and fly the time. He does roll a pretty decent 10. One of yours Paul. This morning when I put em up and let this little guy go the kit went flat for ten minutes and neve really got up to snuff. Do I put him over into the kitbox now, put him in right before to psych the kit or do I just fly 16. Kinda scary flying 16. I have no more kit birds period. This is it.I started to pull a breeder a couple of weeks ago but I couldn`t take a chance on crippling my program just for the Fly.

Kenny,
It is to late to add a bird to the kit...it would for sure disrupt them. I would go with the 16 and cross your fingers....go with what got you there! YOu are just suffering a little Roller Murphys law!! WHat can go wrong will go wrong. If you had a couple of weeks or more...you could add the 10ft bird.....You could also fly the new bird with the kit and see how they do for a couple days...every team is different...one bird is not the same as adding 2 or three..but it is all up to the team. If the team is flat like you said...they most likely are trying to fly away from this new bird. I would most likely fly the 16...that way you can still have one outbird and be ok. This is just part of the game...you just have to put up the cards that are dealt to you. If it were me...I would put up the 16bird team...you know what they cand do...The new bird could mess up the timing..it messed up the timing in my team. 1 out bird you are still safe.
rock and ROLL
