Hey,
I had one come right down in front of me after two of my birds after they were coming in from flying. I was wondering why they were flying so high and acting so weird. They must have seen the coopers when they were first let out. They have been out for two days, I want them to settle down a little. Tommorrow it is a work day so they will be flying.

I to have been hit by hawks. Today flying the older birds (7 months to 9 months) a red tail hawk decided to do a fly-by twice into the kit of 10 and scattering the lot for the next hour. The past seveal days a cooper has been doing fly bys on the young kids (less than 3 monts) and scaring the sh** so they don't go far. I sure hope this ends soon. Have been noticing doves and lots of robins so hopefuly they'll pick on them. Steve

Rauf, West central N.J. is still not safe. Lots of birds have returned, but the Coopers are still hungry. Tried flying very early last week and had hawks keep my birds up over three hours-no losses this time. My best fly time seems to be early evening. Only problem with this is that if I get an attack more than once it has caused an overfly. Lost one bird on Sat. and haven't flown since. Will try flying later this afternoon. Have 17 of this years young cage settled and trap trained, but I'm still afraid to turn them loose. Sooner or later I'll have to bite the bullet. Geo.

I have been very blessed since moving my kit boxes to the new house. Two months ago, a Coopers took a Jaconette youngster of my brother's. We have been flying six kits a day and haven't seen one since. We have resident nesting redtails that fly within 10 yards of the kits and pay them no mind. I don't know if it's the redtails keeping them out, the pastures with fewer trees, or the northern migration, but I am loving life without Coopers for the time being!! YITS, Cliff

Yes they are still around. My birds got chased and harassed couple of days ago. I saw right after the birds’ trapped. He was after Starlings or Robins. It is almost the middle of April and they are still being observed around the cities.
