The wing beat slows down and the birds seem to hover in the air and all of sudden the majority of the birds start spinning at the same time. It is this flying behavior that will allow them to circle around in a figure 8 and stall around the turns to do their magic.

All, how do you make your birds fly like "butterfly"?

Thanks, -Rauf

Butterfly wing beat is like Jay said, very slow with minimal wing beat. Like instead of using your arms to flap, you use only our hands, very small action which in turn makes the kit fly slower and can result in much bigger team work breaks, depending on the birds.
Most of this type of flying is inherited. Some families are very prounounced with butterfly type flying. Pretty much all Jac families will butterfly.
If your birds don't, you can put them on straight wheat with some hard flying and at the peak of condition, they should exhibit some form of butterfly-type action. But most of it is genetic as well as their mind conditioning. If they have been harassed daily by preds, don't expect to see them butterflying around.

Correct me if I am wrong but it is genetic. It is selected for and feed has little to do with it.
I hear there are families out there that has been bred to do this naturally. One that comes into mind is the Davis Family (Clyde Davis).
Kind of like the figure "8" pattern. It is in their genes. I doubt one can train their birds to fly like that.
A butter fly wing beat is simply what it is. Watch a butterfly in flight and you will know what people mean. It is effortless fluttering type wing beats.
My birds don't possess this naturally but I do have team leaders that will slow the gang down to a hovering pattern.
Your birds either have it or they don't. It should be natural to them... just like rolling.
