Kellinos, if the droppings are in one spot, the suspect pigeon probably roosts above that spot, remove that bird/s from your loft and clean the droppings away immediately.
Consider treating for worms or perhaps salmonella? PMV might be considered as a culprit as well.
I would first treat my birds for worms, then give a dose of anti-biotics like Aurecomycin, I would follow-up with Sulmet and then electrolytes and vitamins. I would follow directions on labels.
If no success, then cull it if it is not a valuable bird to your program. Hope things work out. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Hi Tony, Thanks for your response. As I'm fairly new at this,I have some more questions.Firstly,I've seen it mentioned here before in abbreviation and not understood. What is PMV?What is Sulmet? Is there a difference between Electrolytes and Electrovites, which is what I've found in the feed stores here on Vancouver Island to be used for poultry and livestock??Lastly, what should I use for treating for worms, and would I necessarily see worms in their poop if that is the problem? Cheers!! Kel.---------- Kellinos

Bright green, as in vivid green droppings is usually a sign of Coccidiosis. Amprol works pretty good on Cocci.

Coccidiosis Treatment
Kellinos, Brian is right, it could be coccidiosis. It is common in young birds and can be treated in a variety of ways, sulfa drugs such as Sulmet are effective against Coccidiosis, another recommended product is called “4-1” or “4 in 1”, just add these products into the water over several days. I like that these are very affordable products.
As Brian said, Baycox is another treatment that is very effective. To me, it is on the expensive side but if you want to treat specifically for coccidiosis, this is a good product.
If you believe you need to treat specifically for coccidiosis, then you will also need to clean the loft everyday or at least every 2 days. The loft must be kept dry to minimize conditions that would promote coccidiosis.
With these treatments all you are doing is inhibiting the growth cycle, so you must also keep the loft clean as mentioned, remove any birds that appear to have the droppings and treat. You should also treat the other birds as well.
You can order these products through Foys or try your local feed store. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

PMV is a virus which attracks the nervous system and causes twisted neck. Also kills quickly. You can buy shots at foys, jedds. After 1 st shot repeat a month later for 10 mos protection. Electrolytes is a combo of sugar and salt which when mixed with water helps prevent dehydration. Sulmet is Brand name for Sulfazine( sorry spelled wrong} With help prevent Cocci. One celled protazola{ or a nasty little pest}with can live inside of a pigeon and cause bloody stools and infertility etc. Also helps with prevention of salmonia.
