I have only experienced competitions in rolling birds on the ground, but they didn't make the standards... I just want to know about the flying competitions and what they do in it...

Well, I could go through a long spiel of the hows, the whens, and wheres. But, the best think I can tell you is pull a copy of the World Cub rules and the NBRC Fly Rules and get aquianted. It will tell you what scores and how to get signed up to fly, etc etc.
Go to the NBRC site and the World Cup site. A large amount of pertinent information is available. Also, try to locate a competittion flyer in your area and befriend him.........and watch his kit(s) fly. Find a club in your area and join. Also go back through the past threads in this site and view the "how to's" and especially the arguements to get a flavor of whats out there.
Ask specific questions about any subject. This is the best site for performance flying(period).
Don't be afraid to take some critisism....there are some strong opinions in this site and I wouldn't have it anyother way.
Keep'em flying.

Parlor, If you keep flying rollere long enough, eventually you might want to try to compete. Not to be dis couraging, but flying competitions have set agendas and high standards to follow, which takes backyard flying to a much different level. If what you want to see is birds rolling in the air and performing when they feel like it,thats back yard flying. If your looking to get the most out of the rollers you have and have a thick skin enough to weather the expectations/standards along the way to getting good or great performers, then give the competions a try.Either way enjoy the birds, don't get to far ahead of yourself[which is easy in pigeon keeping]and look for the star performers each season.BTW,I have many parlors myself[gotta luv'em] always a favorite when people visit....Aloha,Todd

Parlor, I will use myself as an example here. When I got a few rollers in `78 I knew nothing, except they were cool little birds who flipped a little. Fast forward to 2003 when I got back into rollers,I got eight birds. In 2006 I qualified for the World Cup with a team of mutts because I got in this forum and asked a lot of seemingly stupid stuff, pissed people off and made some great friends too. Point is these guys know their shit.Get some good birds and get in the game. yits v99

Join a local Roller Club. My club holds about 7 flies in a year. 2 of those are in conjunction with the NBRC Fall and World Cup Fly. Thor
Best way to learn about competition is to fly in one yourself.
