It seems that roller fanciers who are competition minded are evolving the birmingham roller breed to a new level. Pefection for competition, and that is great, because it shows that we, the cultivator, will always be shaping the performance to our "ideal" "standard" to meet the criteria that encompass the hobby of kit competition. Do we realize that, in so, we could be moving away from the older standard...hmmm so, is that why there are different camps? And then when one camp spills out the difference, then fires flare. thats understandable.

What happened to the fast spinning ball roller in the 60's, 70's and 80's. I am not saying that it has dissappear, but there are less to bee seen around. Could kit compititon people develop a new craze or spinning birds that has wipe out the prior in popularity.

I love kit comps, but that is just one...I say again one aspect of the roller's abilities. We all know the roller pigeon can perform in other ways. Are we limiting our little feather freinds and our own hobby and abilities to breed this bird by limiting it to just kit comps.

Why don't we just add one, again one more aspect to the competition and make it interesting ---creat a one bird flying comp and fly it with the world cup or national fly So we would have a 20 bird, 11 bird, 0ne bird comp at the same time.
We could even call it "the champion bird fly" or what ever. so to not let our fore fathers in the fancy just weather away with their standard as put forth by William H. Pensom, as he described this awsome little pigeon.

That is fine, what ever they like, this is how we are going to dissect the roller.

Thus far no one in here have seeem to admit that they know all there is to know about the roller.

Some theries need to be tested, scientific experiements will shed light.

Try painting an all white roller black or red and see if the roll is not the same...or different

vice versa

roller,

Now I finally got something to chew on from you. That was a darn good post and it is appreciated by many of us. I am not saying that I agree with all of it, but it is mind provoking and I got something out of it.

Thank you,

Nick

roller, our club has over 100 members from all across the usa. Plus we even had Dave Moseley as a member. The w/c will never do it because that is not what its about. Kevin

It would be great to include that with the fall fly. Those who are in control of how things work in the National Birmingham roller club might be able to shed more light.
and make things happened.

Roller, run with it. But first you would have to put a real name out there. Most guys are looking at your postes like they are from a ghost because you wont put a name with it. A real name and face will get much more through. Kevin

Roller, A one bird fly leaves you wondering if the bird can kit. Most birds don't perform their best when flown alone. What's wrong with the NBRC 11 bird fly. Birds are judged on individual performance. Most flyers who select for individual performance should focus on the NBRC 11 bird fly and leave the 20 bird fly for those who select for concert preformance.
