Has anyone on here evr actually seen a Certified True "Champion." Not just a fast bird but a bird so dynamic that words escape it's definition of the birds performance?

Planet Rock,, yes i have seen champions. There was a club in O.C. called SBRC (spinning birhmingham roller club),the pres. was Arnold Jackson. What this clubs focus was to score the spinners and to certify champions by the club members by a point system. In the time i was in the club i seen a few birds get certified.the birds was judged on velocity, style, depth, and frequency, they were judged harshly. We are talking about restarting this club agin but in different areas(chapters). Our main focus is breed and fly the spinner(individuals)....................R-Luna

Mr Luna,
I would be interested in this club and being a member. Everyone talks about the Champion but very few have the goods to prove or show. And to change the topic for just a second are you the same R. Luna who was the owner or breeder or developer of a blue bar ( I believe), I don't know if it was a Cock or Hen, that was very deep and stunned many who saw this bird?

Anyone else,
Has anyone else actually seen a "Champion" spinner, not pedigrees, paperwork or words talking about what/who there birds are decendants of, I mean actually seen with there own eyes.
And as far as my reading about a "Champion" bird, the birds would have to be intelligent enough to kit, never ever considered an out bird, multi-depth based on their surroundings, a good breeder (able to pass it genes on no matter what bird it was bred to), never rolled down, and performance that escapes any definition.
This is a short list by in essence the bird would truly be dynamic and beyond description.

Planet - I have seen the champion spinner and as I stated before you can actually feel the bird as if it is going right through you. I remember one particular Blue check hen that seemed as if she did not even move and as if she turned into a pea (Awesome). Once an individual witnesses a bird like this he or she will never be the same again. I was a member of the same club the Richard Luna talked about earlier (Spinning Birmingham Roller Club). We have resurrected and will have chapters in different locations.

I don't use the word , I think it is thrown around pretty loosely. I prefere useing " bad mutha frigger" for the exceptional birds, and yes I have seen a couple bad mutha friggers . Calling a bird a Champ you are likely to get someone knocking on your door wanting to see it, it it's to easy for even the best to make a fool out of you on any given day , from champ to chump just for company LOL

I have seen a champion kit but not an individual champion bird. I believe a bird must have way more qualities like kitting and intellegence along with a good hard working attitude. If a person has never seen a champion kit they have nothing to guage there own efforts against. How would one know if his birds are of champion quality if they have never seen a champion kit before? I saw Joe Bob Stuka's kit fly the WC this time and WOW! I only wished I could have seen Clay's birds fly the following day. Before this time I had only seen a kit put up around 200 points in a fly. I truly thought I had seen some very good birds fly in my days but "NOW" I know what a champion kit is! It's 19 Champions all working in unison. I have learned a great deal by going to fly's watching and listening. I believe it will help me with my own efforts in building champion kits in the future.

If I have one, I will not show it to anybody and will not even brag about him and will be immidiatly stocked in the breeding loft. If others came to witness the champ and showed that he is not a chump, this bird will be as good as gone. Because he will be stolen along with the rest of his immidiate family shortly after he was shown. Lets not be so naieve, this happens all the time my friends.

J Star, you struck a personal note with me! When I got back into rollers in 1992, I was fortunate enough to meet up with a great pigeon guy here in Southern California named Jim Lippincott and was able to get some birds from his very best stock. I bred these birds and culled severely, only putting 1 or 2 birds away for stock, which were the cream of the crop. Whenever someone would knock on the door asking about the birds I always gave them something for free but never let them in the backyard unless I knew them personally. Then one day I came home to an empty stock loft. Someone had stolen my entire stock loft except for 3 birds. 7 years of hard work down the drain! I guess, if there's a bright side, it's given me a chance to test a few different families, and I do have a few that I really like! I'm pretty sure that I know who took my birds but I will always feel uneasy about showing anybody my best stuff. Now I have security and a loaded shotgun and the lofts are right outside my bedroom window. So to make a long story short, I understand your position completely.

Planet , Yes i am. i'm sorry the question did not click in, until i re-read your post, i must have been in a rush or busy. It was a blue bar m/flight hen. She was given to Richard Reyes (Rust Never Sleeps-Lofts)and still owns her, produces quite well for him , her brothers and sisters do the same also for me. A great family. I believe R REYES has her posted in picture in one of these site pages......Later Dude..........R-LUNA

Planet, the father is a lavender tic w/f (p/e), i did not fly but his brothers and sisters were awesome birds in the air along with there father he was about 75-80 ft fast with nice style and straight roll, this cock bird died, so i just stocked him out also for a sentimental reason,,,, the hen is a silver bar (o/e),this family side , has velocity, style and depth ranges from 15 to 80 ft. The best part is that the percentages of quality are high. Other fanciers are using ,used this line with the same success....Please dont take like i am bragging because i hate to bragg ,,, I AM JUST BLESSED..(thats the truth)....R-LUNA
