I had a bird doing that .He rolled into the pear tree one day, into the chicken run full of chickens another time.Saturday afternoon during a hawk attack (DAMN COOPERS,haven't been able to catch a pigeon lately but sure cause havoc)when the kit was flying perfect height and kitting the best ever,he hit the roof. That was that. He's about 1 ft under the raspberries now.Thosebirds you have which are doing that should be culled from the kit or just have fun watching them till they cull themselves. Health to your pigeons, Kel.

It looks like these guys are bumpers instead of R D'S. Sometimes they do overcome this and get smart about it or kill them selfs. You are the flyer and the trainer, your time, patience, and tolerence ,work with them......(((( Just remember that if we were pigeons most of us or all of us would have been culled a long time ago)))..... You'll have to put the parents to the breeding test with other matings to see which one is caring and passing this trait,it could be that this particular mating together passed this.........LATER MAN............R-LUNA.......

you should lock em up for 3 to 4 months and see what happens, sometimes some can get smart and control the roll while the others will die from a rolldown...

3 to 4 months i dont think so i would die from boredom by then. if they continue to roll down so be it until they either kill themselves or they meet an unfortunate death . there is replacements in the making . cheers trev

You've got a bumper! Try changing the feed up alittle. I found that with age, they do break out of that habbit. The thing is, if they weren't fast enough to kill themselves, why bother. Some guys will cull such birds but can't cull anything that isn't fully flown out. Fly them suckers out and if it continues, break up the pair that produced it. Some pairs tend to produce way too HOT birds. Thor
3 to 4 months... wow. It must be a blazing fast bird to ever waste that much time on it. The most I have given a bird is two weeks. They either kill themselves or I do it for them.

Keep flying them , they either straighten out or they don't, locking them don't serves little purpose I have found other than prolonging the problem.

Trev, As a rule, if you don`t raise a rolldown occasionally you aren`t breeding hot enough.
Scott,
Lemme `splain something to you as to why I feed em up.
As squeaks sometimes they are similar to human children, they eat what they like. Sometime the bigger birds shove them out or they are eating the wrong thing. If one takes a special interest in a special youngster and feeds him well he will sometimes come out of the bumping behavior. Given a few days of special treatment sometimes will affect the behavior to a sufficient degree to rectify the situation. Good luck Trev yits Scott v99

Kenny I am well aware how to handle hotter birds , and I'll do such every year to at least a few because I am hard headed. But few if any that I have had to treat special are still in the A team a year later, these birds are weak.

Scott, It is because we believe in the "what if " factor. "What if" he gets it together and is a badass? Hmm could make the trouble worth it. I know you know that I know that you know why lolol :) yits v99
