Do you want a roller who voluntary or Involuntary rolls?
The voluntary rollers roll because they want to roll and enjoy it while the involuntary rollers can't control them selves and roll. Meaning mentally weak.
Which one do you think rolls more frequent? Which one rolls deeper or it doesn't matter.
In my opinion I think that the Involuntary rollers roll more frequent because they can't control them selves. While the voluntary rollers roll deeper because they enjoy the roll.
So the rollers that roll better when you cut the feed is the involuntary rollers because that makes them mentally weak. I think the rollers that become outstanding are the voluntary rollers.
I think you answered your own question. The invalonterly are nothing but a rolldown. Do you want to keep a rolldown around if they managed not to kill themselfs?
Im not sure we can distinquish between voluntery and involuntery rollers in the way you suggest. On a heavy feed voluntery rollers will roll regularly and involuntery rollers wont roll much at all. On a light feed of reduced quantity and protein voluntery rollers will roll down and involuntery rollers will roll more often. Voluntery rollers may be nice because you dont have to starve them to get the roll. But voluntery rollers are much more prone to bumping when landing or leaving the loft. I think you have to decide for yourself where you want to draw the line to fit your preferences. Kevin
