Do you feed them one large feeding for the day or do you spread the feed throughout the whole day? Maybe half in the morning and half in the night? How much do you give them?

What are the results?

Once a day, in the morning. Now if you are flying really young birds, it really doesn't matter if they are trapped trained well. When you start flying a kit really hard and get to know their feed intake, you will find that 24 hrs has a very interesting level of importance which can be noted in a finely tuned kit's performance and fly time.

Kit Birds - Once per day and one cup per 10 birds. I feed at the same time every day and I fly at that time as well. They always return to the kit box with food waiting them. I also add minerals and vitamins in thier water. About once a month I throw same grit onto the kit box roof. I change what I feed them depending on performance, feel, and time of the season, but I never change the amount.

Breeders - I have food, water(with minerals and vitamins), and grit available to them all of the time. The feed I give then is a mixture that I mix. Consists of equal parts by weight of austrian peas, wheat, safflower, millet, and milo. I have used flax, but my birds don't like it.....I think because it is flat and sharp edged.

I feed my older kit and older young birds once a day. My young birds I feed twice a day...because I fly them twice a day...I just give them 1/2 the ration in the morning and 1/2 the ration in the evening. If I fly my young birds once a day the get fed once a day. My young birds get all they can eat once a day...until they get lazy at the trap then I start backing it off until they trap fast.
