websters----- mongrel--(n) a plant or animal of mixed breed(esp) a dog produced of interbreeding..........reading from past threads,,,to some a "color roller" is a mongrel and said of predjudice.... Think about this, well the "Pensom colored birds" would have to be mongrels also , since what made the today's family rollers originated from the so Dutch tumbler or oriental roller or both crossed out (right)-(mixed breed also). Food for thought.........R-LUNA

The last thing that I want to do is get into this crap Richard , but the fact is all breeds are developed this way until they become an "established" breed , whether it be a Racing Homer , Pouter or a "Birmingham Roller" .
Cross anyone these breeds on another breed and it's a mutt, plain and simple.

Hey Scott, I started to respond and then stopped. Hey Richard, this is a "hot" topic and the performance board guys get feathers ruffled when the "truth" gets presented! LOL

If only a civil discourse could be held on this topic. The "truth is out there"---Moulder to Sculley

Guy's I'm not here to argue , just posting the facts and being on the real.Maybe i'm not understanding what you defy "mongrel". Does the dilute , according to your definition fall into the category?? I dont breed these colored birds, but you have to be honest with yourself about the origination of the roller, then and now. the now breed of dogs breed true to this day and so do these so called colored rollers........R-Luna

For Pete's sake, let's not get so worked up when 'hot' topics come up. Let them run their course.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion.
If the thought police and the political correctness crowd were in force over 200 years ago, we never would have fought the Revolutionary War and would still be subject to England.
Lighten up! Regardless of individual opinions, we are all still friends.

throw away the color and get the performance
stop thinking about the color and get the best performer
just get rid of the blues, reds and browns and get the 20-30 foots and the best kiters

Doesn't matter what you call it, you can cross it with a canary if you like, but if it rolls tight with good form for 10 20 or 30 ft and so on and doesn't roll down, and sings pretty when happy, it's a keeper, even if it's bright yellow. That's what youre after , performance.
