First off I would like to thank Tony for having the website set up for easy access to valuable info.
I "caught" another guy yesterday. My friend has a water softener gig here in town. He has seen my birds before but hasn`t seen them fly. He was changing the filter in my system yesterday and asked to see my birds fly after he saw my trophy from the WC quals. I kicked out the yb`s and they were kinda stiff but a few got off a couple of good ones, enough to impress the uninitiated. He was instantly excited and started asking questions a mile a minute. Seems his son is 16 and wanted to get some pheasants. Chris didn`t seem to enthused with the idea. He wants some birds to actually perform. So we worked out a deal to trade birds for the filter replacement. Looks like I will be running off another round.
My neighbor next door was talking to my wife over the fence and they decided she needed a system too. So while Chris was pitching her,I jumped on the `puter and burnt off a copy of "Starting out in Rollers" from this site and handed it to Chris along with a copy of the NBRC bulletin. I told him he could learn more this way than I could ever tell him. He seemed pretty excited and with the info so readily available I was able to satisfy it with the article rather than babbling like an idiot.
Chris`s brother is a carpenter I have worked with before and will probably build his boxes. He is supposed to come over for coffee and donuts Sunday morning. A long standing tradition with our two families. I will show him what Chris needs because I am not sure Chris understood. I was glad to see the heading HOUSING in the article.
Thanks Tony
If he pans out that`ll be two local catches this season and five flyers for the area who will be active in the future,I hope. Should bring the judge here a lot easier in the future. Fingers crossed.
Chris also owns a deer lease with the biggest whitetails I have ever seen. :) ---------- If they don`t kit, they don`t score. Color don`t roll and peds don`t fly. It`s a comp thing, understand?
