Well duys I just retired a very old bunch of birds from my breeding program. I thought I would fly them before I gave a bunch to a guy who is starting back after 20 years of being out of the hobby. At first nothing rolled. They were fat old and lazy, I guess kind of how I feel some days. I knew from the younger days that they were excelllent birds and I have fire cracker young from them. So the first thing we did was cut the food in half. I forced them out of the loft and forced them to fly twice a day. Well yesterday my wife's parents were over for my daughters 16th birthday and I pushed them out again. They were on fire. They were rolling left riight and center. They have lost the kitting ability they used to have but man they still have it. This is just to encourage people who received older birds as started birds. Just because they are old don't count them out. C.J.

Hey CJ, I have been breeding rollers every since I was sixteen, I am now 39. I have been out of rollers for the last 6 years for a uncontrolled reason and when I decided to start again, I was lucky enough to find a very good freind who had some birds that was from a couple of good cocks that I gave him afew years back. He told me just to breed from them that they had what I liked. Well it isn't that I don't trust him, because I do 100%, but I have a hard time breeding from something that I don't see for myself. It took a few flys but like you I flew them and they came right back to it. As I had expected, I see I can still trust his judgement if need be. I just have to see it for myself if possible. ---------- Proof Is In The Air!!!!!!!
