I read it sometime back, but couldn't find it anymore.
Does anyone know a cure? What causes it? Is it from bumping on the roof?

Yes, it bumped into something. Sometimes if it is small and you didn't see it hit anything while landing or taking off, then it could have hit another bird while rolling or when the other bird was rolling. Happens quite a lot really. It will heal on its own over time. Kind of like a black eye. It is best to rest them for a week or two otherwise every time the bird rolls it will swell back up.
