I no longer live in California, but I do have some Continentals. They were developed by Tom Hatcher I think in about 1990. They are a small bird and are grouse legged and some times booted. They come in somewhat early. Can be on the hot side and are high flyers. They kit well. They can be a little fragil and they react to feed changes quickly. I have had rolldowns more frequently than I desire. This has been my experience. It may differ from breeder to breeder depending on loft management styles ---------- Snicker Rollers

All of the pure Continentals that I have had where grouse legged. So, I have to go by what I have experienced. I know of others who had them and those that I know say the are groused. Dick Stevens was in kind of a partership with Hatcher and I believe all of Dick Stevens birds are groused.
May be someone else can help us on this.
I, myself would be a little leary of clean legged birds being passed off as Continentals just on what I have experienced. My opinion................ ---------- Snicker Rollers

There is a guy near you that has them. He got them from Bob Berggen. They are good spinners. Who did you get yours from?

Henry's got some good birds. Are those older birds or squekers? It's better to go to his house and get some birds from there. Henry is busy so he doesn't have alot of time to fly his birds. Yesterday was their club fly. Our region will fly the fall fly the end of this month. If you are interested in flying then let me know.

Henry Davis is a good man. If he told you they where Continentals they probably are........and they are some good little spinning birds. I am looking for a cock bird now from Continental stock.
Best wishes to you.

Nick, Most of my Continentals are grouse legged or muffed, but my Hatcher -Hollingsworth side is all clean legged and typy.I dont like small cobby continentals, never had a decent one.The thing about Continentals is their body type is all over the place. When you do find the ones that are doing it right and not developing to late or too early, inbreed it as much as possible then do some half brother sister, and don't be afraid of full brother sister as long as their doing it right....Aloha,Todd
