Man,those peris sure are efficient!Holy mackeral!11 YB's out flying yesterday morn when she appeared middle of the roof next door.Had time to let out one yelp and by the time they were all between the houses, she had one of my reds.A poof of feathers and she turned downwind with that poor bugger clenched tight to her underbelly. The thing that amazed me was the rest of the kit kept flying like nothing happened another 20 minutes!!Guess they were telling me"Oh well, shit happens boss, just keep doing your best!"or else they just aren't to smart.Lockdown for a few days is best I think for now.----------

Kelly,

I know how you feel,I've been dodging preds off and on for a month.Started with 23 young birds and I'm down to 14 now.
Lost most of them do to overflys after the attacks.I don't know if I'll be able to get enough air time if I lock down.
The last 6 are just staring to kit.I hope you have better luck.

I checked my notes, every appearance 6 or 7 this month has been in the AM,none after 3:30pm.Guess I'll take my chances in the afternoon for awhile.
Greed got my fingers crossed on that last one.

Oye Rich,Sorry bout that, damn hueputa,we just have to expect it eh?And this is the quiet time of year on the pred front I heard.I was flying my yound birds twice a day and they were lovin it(so was I even tho it's more work>but my buddy down the coast has been flyin only just before sunset or he would get hit,so taking his advice and doing just that.First night fine,,,,,last night all went good but just as they were trapping in some kinda pointy winged bird flew over bout 200 feet.I wasn't giving that sob any chances and wailed on my drum dude!!!HA!!!She kinda jibed a little and kept going.I been lucky so far really to tell ya truthfully.Need them cowbirds and red winged blackbirds back here for the fall either that or one a them firesticks my son inherited.Best thing is be prepared to make lots a noise and try and outsmart them sob's as much as you can.If you have time when they attack to make a sharp noise like with a Djembe or even a bucket that sure helps to distract em.
Good Luck!!!!!!1
Kel.
