I ruined my first kit and had to cull it. My second kit is, I believe, ready to go. They are six weeks old, trap trained, and will fly from a few feet away to the top of the kit and trap quickly. I have tighten their food down to three minutes. I plan to let them fly from the kit box Saturday.
I am not sure if I should feed them today? I don't know if I should just leave the Kit door open Saturday and let them fly in and out for a while. Should I let them out, shut the door, and let them sit on top of the kit. I sure hate to go back to the power line or tree tops.

Also forgive me for asking about color but, I have a Lavendar cock with a hen that is red starting at her head and kind of ash gray by the bottom of her neck. Her body is Ash Gray. This pair has produced four young birds. One Solid CharCoal Gray, one Solid Mahoganey, one Blue Bar, and one Solid White. I am not sure if all solid birds are called Self or not?
Any One Know how White Showed up?

Huey,
Give them 24 hours from feeding till you let them out.My new flyers I just grab them from the kitbox and put them on top, gently so not to scare them.I always close the door just because I like to see them go through the traps. You want them to know the kitbox roof is the best spot to land.
Curious, how did you ruin the first kit??----------
Kelly
