Hey edrick berzas..........First of all, are your birds flying for any period of time? Then landing in the trees?Or are they just comming out of the kitbox and heading right for the trees? If they come out of the kitbox and go for the trees. I would take them away from ur house down the street and release them. Make them fly. When my birds head for a tree I start flaging them, make all sorts of noises, yell, clap ur hands, thro things up in the air near the tree. What ever it takes to get them to keep them FLYEN. I hope msome of these suggestions will hekp your problem. Paul

It's been my experience if it is young birds landing in the trees they were flagged of the kit box to early. You can get away with that if the box is in a fairly open area. But if you surrounded by trees your better of using a little patience and let them start flying on their own. The birds you got now I would get them real hungry and let them come out thru the trap on their own,let them hang out on the kit box so they feel safe their.A couple of times unmolested should break them off the trees. If not start looking to see which birds are leading them and take them out of the kit for awhile.Hope this helps.

While I agree with what Ron said,I would also like to add that birds comming off of certain pairings will show this trait.A trait for comming down early or tree/roof sitting can definetly be passed on from the parents.Same as reluctant or late trapping.Try as you may sometimes the the extra time you put in training wont break what is bred into them.Whether its recessive or dominant.Basically, what goes in must come out.Hard training can get you through some of this, but breeding from only your best, with a little fostering will give you a smaller genepool of faults.....Aloha,Todd

I had one bird that constantly landed in a tree rather than the roof of the loft. He succumbed to lead poisoning and no longer lands there and none of the others do either.

I would like to know how the scoring is done during flight & how do you take score for the contest flight, i,m in the mamou roller club. we just started this year. we have 9 members so far. how many feet must the bird roll to score. what happens if you have a bird that flys just out of the kit.
