----------I know you all thought here we go again!LOL

Want I wnat to know is everybodys minimum satandard.
What does it take to keep them from "losing their head".
Surely everyone doesn't have 20 champions. How about the B kit. What's the bear minimum for a bird to make it to two years old in YOUR kit.
Second does losses hawks, overflys etc. change your standards at certain times or are they written in stone.

Look at the standard. Then apply it to your kit.
I would put the tiers at these levels.
A. kitting Do all of them kit?
B. Rolling Do they all roll? Single flip on up.
C. Breaking How many break with the kit? 5 birds + min
Next tier Same criteria next level
A. outbird(s) move or cull
B. mininmum scoring is 10 feet with style. move or cull
C. Breaking -more breaks more points move or cull
Next tier same criteria different level
A. leading kit in a circle or other bad habits move or cull
B. minimum 15 feet roll move or cull
C. set a minimum number of times you feel each bird could break;15-20 would be a good number.Work toward that. If you get this last tier you will have an excellemt kit of birds to fly.By then you know your birds well and can diagnose any problems you have by then.

You can see I just shave a little off each tier and make it tougher each season to be in the A team.
Your birds your system. Be as tough as you wanna be.
----------
If they don`t kit,they don`t score.
Color don`t roll and peds don`t fly.
It`s a comp thing,understand?

Ron, First off I dont feel that anything should change your standards to keep or cull. A cull is a cull on any day under any circumstance. As far as the standards for a good bird you are going to get alot of different answers on that one. I personally dont feel that any bird is a cull ontil at least a year as long as it is not a trouble bird. Give them time in the air and the proper training and then if they dont give you the minimum standards for a kit bird cull them. Now that dosn't mean that they will all be good because I feel that the minimum standard is not good at all. It will however give you a starting point to build a kit on and then you can continue to weed out the trouble birds. You will certainly get more problem birds as soon as you start putting all of the performers together because that is were you will begin to see the true heart of the bird. And last but not least you and only you know your birds so use your better judgment and dont play favorites. Joe Urbon
