Is anybody else having shipping problems? I was going to try and ship out some birds from Sacramento to Idaho and there are no flights available..so then I was going to have them go to a friend in Utah and no flight tho Salt lake either. I have NEVER had a problem shipping birds from Sac...it is the hub for Northern Ca. Is this just a freak thing...or is there something going on with the postal service. Any information would be great!

Funny this message was posted, I was going to post something very similar. A friend mine is trying to ship me some birds from Northern California as well (Quincy California rouhgly three hours from Sac.) Although the closest post office that would ship birds is Reno. He told me after calling they would not ship to San Diego (where I live) nor LAX. after some researching online, and exhausting any positive leads I really dont know what to do nor the options to take if any. I kind of find it ridiculous as I just want to ship it from one of end california to the other, not one state to another. Any ideas or help. Paul, goodluck on the situation, I feel for you and have no idea what the deal is.

The deal is (loosely) that the USPS and the airlines have a restriction on shipping lives from June through Oct 1 due to heat, and this year due to some contracts with airlines. We haven't been able to ship from here in So Cal since spring, but will be able to resume after the first week of October. That is pretty much been the same concensus from most others around the country who have been told something similiar by their local postmaster. Brian.
